Irony of pre poll alliance-----
by anil trivedi on May 08, 2009 10:44 AM  | Hide replies

There are pre-poll alliances made by all the fronts based on the state basis, they are valid for a state but in rest of the India these parties are contesting against each other like BJP-JDU and Congress-NCP. As per the discussions, do they really qualify as a pre-poll alliance.

They should not, if they are friendly in some places, and enemies elsewhere.

The total strength is 542. One needs 272 to claim majority. Rajya sabha strength of any party is not considered for considering the majority of the Govermenet.

there are total 575 members in Loksabha, out of which 573 will come through election and 2 through nominaiton from Anglo-Indian society. Nominated members should not vote in Loksabha debate.
So we need 272 More than 50% of 573) MPs to forma a mejority government.

by Bulls Eye on May 08, 2009 10:36 AM  | Hide replies

Today the TOI too has carried the same article. I am afraid that we are in for some kind of spin theory after May 16, 2009.
Congress appointed President will call in Congress to form the government quoting the same reasons "THAT BJP DOES NOT HAVE CANDIDATES WHO ARE CAPABLE OF RUNNING THE GOVERNMENT".
Just wait and see, no wonder Congress and their supporters are very cocky in spite of the impending defeat.
To murder the constitution is the birth right of the Congress party.

simple solution to max problem
by india bol on May 08, 2009 10:34 AM  | Hide replies

post poll alliance should be banned. only pre-poll alliance should be allowed. if you look at it carefully you will see that it will evantually make only 2-3 parties before election as everyone would like to be one or the other alliance... whoever would have max seats will make govt and cannot get away in between 5 years

the article says:As I said as far as the Constitution is concerned the President is at liberty to appoint anyone who in her discretion is likely to command the confidence of a majority of the members.infact the president herself is a congress katputli.

the fact of the life is we have failed as a democracy where service to people means serving them with liquor, money and biriyani during elections and buying and selling parties after elections.these elections are a sheer waste of time, money and energy.the election commission cant even issue voter ids to people over a five year period.what are they doing?sleeping?in fact in andhra pradesh a carton full fo voter ids were found in a municipal garbage bin.how did it get there in first place?simply asking people to vote is no solution to corruption.there is no ideology and even if there is one it is only money.

First of all President is Katputli it means you have not gone through the article in rediff mail. please go through and comment as Katputli.

Secondly democracy is not dead it is murdered by the learned and educated people. they do not want to come out and vote but they are enjoying the holidays. rest people are hungly fellows and they drink liquor, money and biriyani because they have uneducated people nobodys cant change them. To save india, democracy and corruption you the educated people should wake up and cast the vote to any party as per your wish. When you educated people are sleeping and blaming president is katputali. You being imputent and cant produce child and blaming your wife and doctors. This is the sin of this country we are only blaming and not taking any appropriate action which are in your hand. We know only blaming congress and we forgot our responsibility. What sin of this country and particularly shameful to the educated voter.

Post-poll alliance between parties who fought and contested each other in the election, is nothing but CHEATING OF THE PUBLIC who voted. Election Commission should ban post-poll alliances between parties who fought against.

To change all this first we have to destroy 60 years old consituence. Secondly when election commision has power why he is allowing every day to form a new party. He should keep some condition to form the political party then only some thing will come out.

First you have to improve your history. Please note B. R. Ambedkar has not prepared the consitution. It has been prepared by learned people and B. R. Ambedkar was a chairman of the committee. Yes we agree this constitution should be changed and it will done only our coming young leaders and not these dirty old man.

Rules of the Game should be changed to limit number of parties
by Joseph Purathur on May 08, 2009 10:20 AM  | Hide replies

India is a diverse country. Unity in diversity is nothing but a beautiful slogan. Hardly anybody believes in it. Otherwise, we would not have so many parties divided on the basis of language, religion, caste, and what not. While it is true that regional parties may better represent the wishes and aspirations of various regions and areas, for a nation - Indian nation - it is a luxury. We need to find ways to restrict the number of parties who may be allowed to contest assembly and parliamentary elections. Such small parties can however be allowed to contest panchayat and district-level elections, not beyond. Election Commission must put a cap of maximum 10 parties for assembly and parliamentary elections. Let the smaller parties be merged with like-minded parties, if they so desire.

who will win ?
by US Indian on May 08, 2009 10:18 AM  | Hide replies

20% minorities (musileems, chreesteens).
12% dalits(SC/ST).
Total 32% Vote will go for congress with Nett.

Remaining 68% vote is splitted as BJP, RJD, SP, CPM, TC, DMK, ADMK, Telugu Desam, JD, BJD etc

Again all BC/MBC/SC/ST students and Families are going to vote for Congress (me to).

Now think, who will come to power.

Jai Ho.

Upto some extent U r right

Do u know how & why congress win elections & BJP can't?

BJP can't come in power coz if u calculate it overall - 20% r minorities & 25% r reservation catagory people here in India out of 100%, atleast 90% minorities & reservation catagory use right of voting for sure & give vote to Congress only, it means 40% votes congress has secured already. Avg. Voting happens 60% max. I don't feel BJP has chance to make govt. in parliament, untill voting happens above 80%. For most of the public half day salary & TV entertainment is more important than voting, so that above 80% voting is impossible. If some1 isn't voting means he is voting for congress.

This way only MMS, Pranab Mukharjee & Shivaraj Patil r the person who deserves to become PM coz they listen each & everything said & unsaid by SG.

We just hv to create awareness of voting then congress will collapse automaticaly.

This is the failure of our democracy. If the castes are deciding who comes to power, instead of polls get the govt. on the basis of census results.
Talking of govt. formation on the basis of percentages of certain community is a crime against the democracy, against the nation.

Why 2 rules? If one community can vote based on religious issues..i.e everybody discusses how they will vote based on terrorism etc, why cant the majority vote on religion? Why 2 rules for 2 religions? we all know that one community goes to their place of worship..aka mosque and take directives from their religious leader...so thats secular? This democracy and media in India is a farce and funded by anti nationals

What is the use who wins.. every one sails in thesame boat. Any how we are not benefited untill the our constitution is revised and you know that the constitution was written 60 years back and world is changing every single day..
When they had written the constitution.. they might have not even imagined about the world with computers and mobiles..
Also with these political parties .. we may continue with the same constitution except increasing the salaries of MLA/MPs for next 100 Years..So the message here is clear " if you want to improve and change yourlife and lifestyle.. get out of INDIA for better leaving and prosperity.. within your lifespan as it is too short" for any thing to change except few films and immediate josh on the issues!!
