economic policy of BJP is good and even comparable to congress. but one thing i don't like about BJP is when they campaign they don't want themselves as Hindu party, but there campaign will all be development issues. whihc is very good. but once they form government they show there true colour. A fox in a sheep's hide. look at gujarat, Orissa,Karnataka. even though they do well economically, they show there ugly head.
D. Goel, Pkl. afternoon, 2.40pm, Friday, 8th May, 2009 No doubt the shirtless men and Choliless housewives with empty urns and no jobs are the last persons to appreciate the imperfections of electoral non-responsiveness of our democracy.Really what they ask for is effective one-Window Gram-Panchayat ,where they could at least have the pleasure of ventilating their grass-root felt needs!Of course, given the caste and class and factional intrigues ,it would be brave idealist , who should think that once the outside agencies are minimised, or confined to only role that is to assign grants , advice and provide technical services to the commands of the local authority,Mana would descend and we shall have instant Heaven. No.Unfortunately, human Polities do not work without often frustrating delays and dreary hypocrites dominating Public space. We do have a cliche , that people get the governance they deserve,But to educate masses in the art of managing their public domain in not easily done ,most certainly the aspiring power Wielders are the last people who could attend to it.D. Cry, cry and then cry some more! That's all we as Indians can do.
What have these villagers done to help themselves? Why should any one care for them? If they expect the govt. to come to their aid and wash away their troubles - well...they can continue fantasizing.
The govt. is full of people just like us - cowards who don't speak up, idlers who watch cricket all the time and shirk hard work, morons who refuse to educate themselves, simpletons who believe lots of hard work is necessary to maintain a decent standard of living, minority communities who believe they need to have at least 10 offsprings per couple in order to ensure their last name lives on, and so on.
We, and only we are responsible for our progress. When will we Indians learn this?? All we do is watch cricket, gossip about the news of the TV, watch an accident drama on the road, live our lives like tramps in the hope that someone rich or the govt. will come to our aid. And of course, we never fail to curse the rich like the Ambanis or the Tatas since we expect them to give away their money in charity.
We deserve to suffer. Tell these villagers to unite and fight back. Will they? Tell them to build a school and fight the caste system first. Will they? Tell them to shun religious myths and embrace an open caste system. They just won't - because they are comfortable with the way things are. Why then, should any one come to their aid?

Hey Raj, are you the Raj from SRK movies? because your thoughts are from the same dream world. Why do we have governments then? Why to have democracy? What you are talking about happened in jungle raj when every one had to take care of their own wellness, not in this modern day when you have democratically elected Govt is supposed to do these things. They are saying that they do not have food for the children and you are asking them to build a school!! How many schools you have constructed? Did you build the road in which you live in? Come on Wake Up, if you can not help at lease do not insult people who are suffering.
Here, in India Poverty is not a big deal. Who cares the poor the dirty and downtrodden people. They should not come up, they should stay as devided into differerent caste , creed within the religion. They should not be given education, becoz once they enlighten, the dirty and unscruplous politicians cannot make them fools. International matters are great topics during election campaign like Palastenien issue, Tamilian issue in Srilanka, Israel weapon deal etc etc. For the last 50 years one party is talking about "Gharibi Ghatawo". As long as the regional politicians continue to devide the people on the basis of caste , creed and on the basis of language, as long as the vote bank politics continue, India will remain like this. It will never turn a s Tiger ( great power). Our enemy is within the country. What a sad plight of democracy with 34%, 24%, 40% vote casting. Who will save my country ?? and When ??
"How do you expect us to think of the Sri Lankan Tamils when our next meal is a question mark, when we have such a dilapidated school in our village ". Please put this message to all so called leaders who are vouching only for srilankan tmails, but forgetting the plight of our tamilians/Indians. Shame on these political leaders.

Did you know that on the day of the Mumbai train blasts, the Government gave Rs 150 crores for earthquake relief in Pakistan ? Last year our Govt. has given Rs 3000 crores (600 Million Dollars) to Afghanistan? This, when victims of terror in India have not yet got aid? What's going on? B) Is this Government really secular ?
1) When Madrasas are being shut down in Pakistan, the Indian Government is giving them CBSE status !! It is depriving Muslim children in getting secular education. A Madrasa educated person can get a job in any government office without going through the secular education system. Can India afford to have fundamentalists in government departments? Why cannot the government shut down Madrassas and let Muslim children study with the rest?

Giving CBSE status to Madrasa is a secular dicission. We can't challange it in India. Lalu had also taken a secular dicission during his tenure he closed almost all Sanskrit Vidyalaya and open Chauraha Vidyalaya and looted money by both hand.
Latest in the series of controversies centred on the Congress party’s fixation with Muslim grievances is the data collection exercise involving the Indian Armed Forces. It is irrelevant and mischievous to mention about caste-based divisions in the Army during the British rule. Congress leaders not only divided the country politically but also militarily. The military officers and men of pre-independence India , belonging to all communities fought the WWII together under the British.
Pakistan got a ready-made army at its birth. When Indian Muslims got Pakistan they also got a Muslim army carved out of the undivided Indian Army. This army produced Pakistani generals and officers who fought wars with India — the first full scale war being in 1965. This is history in living memory.
The Congress party having divided and ruled the country for decades is continuing with its dangerous game and monstrous thinking of doing a head count for the Army now.
Hello Muthulakshmy, The is no shotcut for success you need to work hand atleast your next or next to that generation will be rich. Dont beleive these politicians they are contesting elections for their profit not to help people. God Bless You.
When govt & pvt employees retire either at 58 or 60..why shd the ministers,MP's and MLA's who are above this age cap be allowed to rule our nation and states... When they make law for others, who is going to make law for them... I go one step further they should have post graduate qualification to run the country and state as applicable to employees in govt & private organizations.. The constitution has to be reframed... Goons, uneducated, physically & medically unfit persons and person above 58/60 should not be allowed to enter assembly, loksabha and rajayasabha and also for the post of president...

Totally agreed and well said. I would like to add that criminals or persons involved in any form of activity that is harmfull, should not be allowed to contest at all. Most of the politicians are involved in some kind of criminal activity. Is this not shamefull for a Country that has been independent for over 50 years? They have not even been able to devise a system whereby such persons can be kept away from any political affiliations.

It is purely political convenience..When the politians are impacted they hand in glove...They don't want their money growing tree to be cut... whereas when it comes to making laws to citizens of india..they become holier than before...Why this double standards??? As rightly said..Politics is the resort for scoundrels!!! Our Loksabha, Rajayasabha & state assembly's are manifestation to the above syndrome!
