Nowadays I cannot see poor. Even beggars have mobele phones and accept gratefully only if you offer not less than Rs.2/-

Thats a clear indication of the economy failure.. if a beggar can't accept rs. 2, it only means he is unable to meet ends if given lesser.. he is therefore still a beggar...and now demanding more....

Low turnout a dismal sign
by Sunny mahajan on Apr 30, 2009 09:42 PM  | Hide replies

Its disheartening to know about the abysmally low voter turnout.
Even though the awareness and enthusiasm level of Indians is highest during these loksabha elections, still people are not willing to exercise their right.
I feel sorry for this nation that we as citizens will keep on cribbing about poor governance, criminal politicians, less jobs, unavailability of basic amenities; still we won't do the easiest thing i.e. Vote.
I respectfully disagree with those who say, "we do not have good candidates to choose from, so we do not vote". In life many times we have to make "OPTIMUM" choices as "BEST" choices are not always there.
For some others who complain of summer heat; can't they bear a day of summer so that for the next 5 years life is a little better.

Frankly, if the Voter turnout remains below 50% for years to come, don't expect any better state of affairs.

EXIT POLL MUMBAI-THANE
by BhejaFry on Apr 30, 2009 09:35 PM  | Hide replies

MUMBAI NORTH & MUMBAI NORTH-WEST

higher voter turnout in mumbai-north and mumbai north west as compared to last time will mean Ram Naik wins mumbai-north and Gajanan Kirtikar wins North-west.
bye bye to sanjay nirupam,gurudas kamat,abu azmi.Here Marathi,gujrati people dominate.both are saffron voters.others don't stand a chance.

MUMBAI SOUTH CENTRAL

in dadar , irrespective of turnout, eknath Gaekwad of congress will win, this time margin will be bigger because chembur, sion koliwada etc garbage areas have been added to this constituency. suresh gambhir stands no chance here.shiv sena can never win this seat again.

MUMBAI NORTH EAST

Low voter turnout in mumbai north east might favor NCP's sanjay patil. he might scrape through over suresh kalmadi.this constituency has high dalit , muz voters, they normally turn out in large numbers as compared to middle class people.
so dandiya boy is out.Dabawala is in.

MUMBAI NORTH CENTRAL

Priya dutt will win again, though with a reduced margin.
Mahesh Jethmalani will give good fight. BSP's Bhaijaan will eat into priya's vote ,MNS will eat BJP votes.

MUMBAI SOUTH

Low voter turnout in mumbai south favors mohan rawle. elite people of colaba, cuffe parade, marine drive did not get down from their sky scrapers it seems.
so bye bye Milind Deora.

Re: EXIT POLL MUMBAI-THANE

THANE

Thane also has almost same turnout as last time, which means Sena's Vijay Chougule will trounce NCP's sanjeev naik by at least 1.0 lakh votes.
in bye-election held a few months ago, voter turnout was just 29%,yet prakash paranjpe trounced sanjeev naik by a marjin of 90,000. this time MNS will eat into Vijay Chougule's vote so victory margin will remain same despite higher turnout as compared to by-poll. sanjeev naik is facing major embarassment over his fake doctorate obtained from the International Tamil university of Maryland ,USA. Matter is in court.

KALYAN

Kalyan is unpredictable.50-50 chance for both. kalwa mumbra has high muzee poPulation, kalyan dombivli has high ss-bjp voters. both prakash paranjpe and vasant davkhare are strong, MNS will eat paranjpe's vote. NCP might scrape a win here.

PALGHAR

In palghar, chintaman vanga of BJP will beat damu shingda of conG this time, because hitendra thakur has fielded his own candidate in vasai virar who will eat into congress votes, vasai virar was earlier part of north mumbai and give a huge lead to govinda, that caused ram naiks defeat last time.

palghar, vikramgad, jawhar are sena strongholds. lahanu kom of CPI-M will also eat into cong votes. so easy win for vanga.

BHIWANDI

Parshuram Taware of Cong might win here.BJP's Jagannath patil is strong, but independant Vishwanath Patil will eat into his votes, and so will MNS.
Muzees will vote en-bloc for cong.BJP candidate is strong but organisation is weak here.this was a sena stronghold which went to BJP in seat exchange.

so as per my analysis of the 10 seats, sena-BJP will win 5, cong-NCP will win 5
last time there were 8 seats , sena BJP won 2 , congress won 6
so this time sena BJp will win 3 more , cong loses 3 , NCP wins 2 more.
