Only 43 percent turnout in Mumbai, the "most progressive city in the country". My work takes me to Mumbai quite often, and I know many people there. I have observed Bombayites to be a vapid, self-absorbed lot for whom the only important issues are shares, movies and cricket.Anything that happens to them is 'earth-shaking' and of 'national' importance. They have no idea that floods like 26/7 happen every year in many parts of the country, and attacks like 26/11 happen every week in Kashmir, the north-east and the naxalite affected regions.I made the mistake of asking my Mumbai friend who Vijay Saleskar was. He looked at me in shocked disbelief- YOU-DONT-KNOW-WHO-VIJAY-SALESKAR-WAS? he exclaimed. I wanted to tell the fool- Of course I dont know who he was-you expect every person in India to know of your petty local affairs or what? And, by the way, "India" does'nt end at Virar or Ambarnath. IT STARTS THERE.

What makes you feel so dame pathetic about Mumbai, hey there is no other city in India which is as inclusive as Mumbai is. Thus it is natural for us to feel that we know India better. also watch the English news in TV, Mumbai’s low turnout is a major point of debate than a 70% turnout in Mangalore. Mumbai is the nerve center of India and an economic power house. We have seen many terror strikes except the terrorism infested states

Very truly spoken, Mr Naik. Even I've observed Mumbaikars to be very self-obsessed, and self-centered. Why do you think there was a huge hue and cry after the 26/11? simply because the Taj and Oberoi going "elite" crowd felt themselves to be in the firing range. Where was this reaction when there were blasts in other parts of the country-Assam, Noida, Surat, Hyderabad, and for that matter, even the Bombay train blasts? If the IPL was to be held today, I bet there would have been a much beter turnout than at the polling booth. Hundreds turned up for a candle light march,yelling-"politicians chor hai", where was the same crowd today? Mumbai's population, unfortunately, is hypocritic, apathetic and aware but nt sensitive.

And as for this guy being the 'sharpest' officer in your police force, what he did was certainly not 'sharp'. Dear Swati , Sonia is as much patriotic and Indian like any other True Indian and she do not need a certificate from BJP . secondly , if she is not an indian becoz not being born in india thn by same view Advani is also a Pakistani BJP guys did a lot of hallabulla for this issue in 2004 also BUT Whole India Ignored their Voice.

Congress Would have done some development in the country which is lacking from last 60 years. we dont have elctricity, water supply, roads, schools. 70 blasts in india in 5 years, where is the justice for those who were killed? but 1 malegoan blast that killed 7 muzl!ms which made them take rigourous actions against pragya thakur, y?. I am sorry, but my opinion on Mumbai took a beating today. All the processions and the candle lighting, now seems only a farce. Atleast it should have been the same %age as last year, it is almost 4-5% lesser.. I think this is sheer apathy and a shame....

conversion is never a condition for service to poor ... it leads to it ... see, when you help someone and you tell them that it came from jesus and that jesus will be there for you when you need him and when you are poor, you say 'yes' to conversion.
but, at least they are helping. what are you doing to help the poor?

To become PM should be challenged in court. Anybody from Bihar, UP, WB should be barred to occupy PM post in India. On what basis ?
Being Dalits daughter is not going to help as population of Dalit is not 51%.
Somebody from developed states who have contributions to make India recognized at least with some respect should be made PM. Manmohan (PB), Modi, Advani(Gujrat), or whatever.
