Judging the quality of a person by his religious affiliation is crass absurdity. I pity those that assume that a religion or religious affiliation makes you holy/right/good/humane.
There are so many that are born to a religion but follow it not.
There are so many that are nominal (only by their name) Hindu/Christian/Muslim etc.
And then there are many that worship a given god or follow a given religion by choice.
And since all of the three aforesaid sections basically remain human beings irrespective of their religious labels or identities, they do commit crimes and go wrong many a time in many a thing.
To accuse someone of a crime for following a given religion is one of the most ridiculous things of all.
To accuse a person’s religion for the crime he commits (religious extremists do not fall in this) is absolute nonsense.
Again, those that do not understand the difference between religion, spirituality and communalism are the ones who create and propagate this confusion.
Communalism is “religious extremism”. That is a religion in itself. The confused minds mix it up with normal religion.
Again, a religious person need not be spiritual. They are two different types. The religious are stuck with rites, rituals, customs, practices and all other forms of outer expressions of religiosity.

You idiots --for a start we non-secular Hindu cannot be communal,we never say we are the only truth,we do not call anybody infidel..We just want to protect our cultures,it is GOd given right. You being congress supported ,,wouldno`t understand....
The spiritually sensitive and evolved people are hard to find among the so-called religious. The real cause of all conflicts, hatred, violence and crimes fall in either the “religious fold” or/and “communally blinded/charged” and “politically motivated” sections that unscrupulously reduce religion to a political weapon.
It’s the confused lot ignorant of the abovesaid differences that illogically argue that “Hitler” was a Christian and so all Christians are Hitlers, so on and so forth. The logical fallacy they engage in can be equated with those that reason as follows – “God is love. Love is blind. Stevie Wonder is blind. Therefore Stevie Wonder is God.” It’s like saying Sidharth was a Hindu King who quit Vedic religion and turned Budha, the enlightened and therefore all Hindus are enlightened Budhas. If you see the stupidity of this logic, you are closer to liberation from the communal intellectual slavery.
Individuals/influences/elements like Sahu will continue to play havoc with the principles of harmony, unity, liberty, equality and fraternity if the intellectually liberated forces in this country continue to sit back dispassionately, watching the show, doing nothing about the mindless communal frenzy they stage at their will.
Look farther man.. how many countries of religios type are in a lead position today... We need wider acceptance to grow... we need more programs that take every group of people forward.. think man.. new plans... new ides... dont go back.
other countries are moving out of such system and they are in the forefront. if we divide by religion then the next in india will be of language,, no end to that kind of divisions...

What is left to be sold? Congress party has already sold our Country to US under a dubious Nuclear Deal. Even the CAG criticised the deal a few days back.

Yes, call to “wake up” is a much needed one. It also shows “the people” you are addressing continue to sleep. They indeed are in a slumber sedated by the communal drug. They continue to see dreams in this state of slumber. Dreams of securing power by suppressing and oppressing the socially disadvantaged. Dreams of securing pelf and power by exploited those that their ancestors have been exploiting for centuries. Dreams of keeping in check all developmental forces such as Christian missions and charities that have been successfully liberating people around the world from ignorance, inequality, all forms of oppressions and human rights violations since their advent.
Dreams are sweet, particularly to those that see it, as long as they are about the good things they stand to gain. However, it’s only when the dreamer “wakes up” that he realizes everything was just a dream and that he was in sleep.
So please wake up and realize the reality is so very different. It’s not what BJP and other saffron brigade propagate it to be. So “wake up” is a call many well-meaning Indians would like to give BJP, RSS, Shiv Sena, VHP, BD, RS and the likes who do not realize they are in a state of slumber drugged by communalism.

manavarth anweshi, pl download and read "The Necessity of Atheism" by Dr.D.M. Brooks freely available at Project Gutenberg to know about the NOBLE works done in the name of re1igions the world over (especially X'tianity and 1slam). Also read "Asia and Western Domination" by noted Historian and Diplomat KM Panikkar about the noble deeds of the European colonizers and their missionaries. You can teach the followers of native religions in India after reading them.

Mr.”Chintan”, Sahu may win as per your forecast but that wouldn’t be by fair means. Everybody who knows the ground realities of Orissa and Sahu’s constituency knows why. He would not be the legally elected representative of the people in the actual sense, if at all he wins. In other words, who doesn’t know the win of such communally blind individuals is made possible by the criminal cadres of the saffron brigade? Who doesn’t know it is made possible by the gullible people of the region that are either communally blinded/communally charged or are made to vote on gunpoint? Is that called a win? Are such nefarious elements called representatives of “people”? It’s an insult to the quality of people that send Sahu types to parliament if at all they send him. At the end of the day, people get what they deserve

we all know congress use the EVM machines to rig the elections---go back to the arabean desert....
But almost all Indian politicians (Sonia, Maya, Jaya, Pawar, Lalu, Advani etc) conceal their ASSETS and INVESTMENTS in election affidavits to EVADE taxes.
He accused church of the secessionist movements in North-East. It only reveals the depth of ignorance he lives in. Anybody with basic GK knows secessionism in Assam perpetrated by ULFA, has nothing to do with church, Christianity or Christians. They are Hindus of Assam who doesn’t want to be part of India. Methei Secessionists in Manipur are Hindus too, who doesn’t consider themselves part of India. Yes it is true that Nagas of Nagaland embraced Christianity in the late 19th century. They have been animist tribes warring with each other prior to embracing Christianity. Even they have been fighting not for religious reasons. They have always considered themselves ethnically and racially different from mainstream India. And it’s quite obvious too. However, is it politically justifiable or not is a totally different matter altogether. They may have a legible reason on ethnic and racial grounds for their demand but it is in the interest of India to do what is needed to keep them with us. Ashok Sahu and his kind that believes in dividing the country along caste, religion, race and creed would only add to the secessionist feelings of people in this country. By the way, the saffron brigade has no right to point out secessionist tendency in any sections of Indian population. Why? Clearly because there’s no other force in this country that works to keep people divided as they do.

Anybody who has GK knows that Assam and Nagaland are not the only states which makes up NE.
Re: Re: reality of secessionism distorted
by manavarth anweshi on Apr 15, 2009 01:05 PM
So, since you seem to have enough GK why don't you kindly guide us on other secessionist forces operating in the NE and please go ahead and enlighten us on the realities about who are they and what their demands are.
Those that heard Ashok Sahu responding to reporters on TV would know what a narrow mental space he comes from. After hearing his views on his political stand, for a moment I wondered how that man got IPS. But then, he just represents a bureaucracy that has also been communalized alongside the politics of this country. In a country notorious for its corruption, nepotism, communalism, socio-economic discrimination and inequality, unfits securing academic qualifications and getting into responsible positions is but passCertainly there are many more of his breed inhabiting the bureaucracy of this nation, misusing their power and position to perpetuate nothing but communal agenda.
