FYI, I am against any conversion that is forced/coerced/tricked...there should be laws against it and those laws should be enforced. At the same time, there should be ENFORCEABLE laws that ensure that the downtrodden don't have any reason to leave their own faith and join another, especially if it's due to discrimination. If the house is sorted and every member of the house has equal dignity, then they may not want to leave home.

In South Goa my constituency the BJP candidate has been visinting us christians asking for votes. The opposition leader in Goa Assembly has more than once called the Ram Sene leader Mr. Muthlik a thug in human clothes. Why this difference in BJP leaders across states. I don't liek these missionary activities, but at the same time it's complete crap to say that "Missionary,you are living in the middle ages", when you have done nothing to stop casteism, dowry deaths, child marriages, etc....these are stigmas of the middle ages. Joe, we are trying a lot from our sides. Its totally unfair to say that we have done nothing. Also dont forget a lot of it is due to poverty, which brings us to the conversion game..anyways I will leave that controversial topic for now.
Agreed we still have a long way to go, but dont forget the age of this religion. We have started the reforms hardly a century back. Dont judge us so much.
Meanwhile, about the handful of people who are still keeping those vile customs alive, I would really really be glad if some missionary comes and converts them into Christianity or some other religion. Seriously I am sick of dowry-killers and all the casteism fanatics.
