Right decision considering last few away series.Should have left after the series.Anyway its his choice of timing. His contribution as most successful test captain will be a part of golden chapter in Indian cricket.

kohli is zero and can play only on dusty indian pitches.does not have talent and is just a fluke player. dhoni was a true fighter and an excellent leader. he did not play for himself but played for the team and country. this was evident from todays play. in first test that idot kohli got out on the last day without caring for the team where as today dhoni took the responsibility and sailed the team to achieve at least draw. dhoni won world cup for india I am sure kholi can not win even a spoon . for me india first and I do not care for players like kohli and sachin who play just for their own profit and not for the team. I know about kohli stats, he is just a ordinary player, which was clearly evident from his performance in last England tour. for get about national team , he could not make his franchise team win a single IPL even in the presence of players llike gayle , develliars . Kohli is a big zero as a player , does not have technique and temperament , and does not have even leadership skills . just BLA BLA BLA

what a logical reasoning! Mate, India has already lost the test series. I think it's the right decision to leave captaincy, he could have continued as a test player though for some time and could have groomed Kohli.
Most of people making adverse comments on MSD are fit to be next Srinivasan, who held the top post without knowing how to hold the bat. If we cannot appreciate yeomen service by MSD at least let us not criticize him.
