Bad decision
by ravindra Kharwar on Dec 30, 2014 05:32 PM

Dhoni took wrong decision at wrong time because his contribution to elevate the level of team in test cricket after Ajahar and Dada was great and appreciable and it could be verified by his captaincy record. I think BCCI should request him to complete this series at least as captain because it may maintain the moral of team.

All the best Dhoni for your future endeavor in T20 and one day.

could have continued is tests as a player but then he has taken nthe decision and some others waiting get a chance. Doing wicket keeping, batting is too tough and not many have done it. Hats off to his stamina.

Good that he has realised that his captaincy is no longer fitting in.Now to concentrate on ODI and T20 is his call. The selectors and the authourities, meanwhile, must ponder over certain valid issues 10 he had been appointed for the lst 3 Tests in this series disrupting Virat's captaincy after just one Test.2)When he came back from injury he seem predecided of quitting midway if results were not there(to expect anything different from more or less the same playere under him hammered in England this was a very selfish agenda). He could have gracefully quit after the World Cup by preparing for the event and allowed Virat to continue this series.2)Now he has commented that his Team has the habit of themselves pulling in pressure from winning positions.3)Aperson who is only citing obvious things that are there for everyone to see should no longer be handed the captaincy by default as again changing before the Tri series back to him will only mess our Team morale. He can be there as a WK and with a back up keeper in case he decides to quit in the middle of the series.Anyways, the game is bigger than him,and it has given more to him than he thinks he has to it.

Could have relinquished the captaincy & continued to play as wicketkeeper batsman.

It is not an easy job keeping wickets in tests, specially with the kind of bowling attack India traditionally possess

not many players in the world wicketkeeper, batsman, captain and finally end as a successfull captain, it really takes a toll especially playing all three formats. It's time for him to move away from tests after playing non stop. I doubt whether Kohli or anybody else can change India's overseas results. Only time will answer this.

India may have best captain ,unless and until we have desciplined bowlers the team cannot win the matches. Look at Ishant sharma ,how many tests he has played, still he cannot bowl accurately, then how you can expect captain to win the matches.

Dhoni is an intuitive and inspired captain in the ODI and T20 formats. His Test captaincy is however no upto the mark and especially overseas!

Glad that Dhoni had the guts to follow his conscience. We are proud of you!

Decision should have come either begining of series or end of series, this shows everything not right in Indian Dressing Room

may be. Or probably he would have taken a decision to leave after this series. Now that the series is over, probably thought of leaving it to Kohli a little earlier.

KOHLI
by sri dab on Dec 30, 2014 04:27 PM  | Hide replies

I know about kohli stats, he is just a ordinary player, which was clearly evident from his performance in last England tour. for get about national team , he could not make his franchise team win a single IPL even in the presence of players llike gayle , develliars . Kohli is a big zero as a player , does not have technique and temperament , and does not have even leadership skills . just BLA BLA BLA

Kohli may not have technique or temperament.. but he has PERFORMED. 3 Centuries in this series, is kind of record for any Indian batsmen. He is likely to go strength form strength

Though he has not won many test matches for India in overseas still he is the best person to lead team because he does not have enough wicket taking bowler in overseas pitches.

If he can not win matches, lets have him as 12th man and captain. Captain can only lead well when he is leading from front by performing.
