They were never quality wicket keepers.. :), he joined Indian team as WK and batsman, and not as Batsman. Don't compare him with them.

The reason for premature retirement might be (even though I did challenged my friend who is an ardent fan of Dhoni that, he wont play a single Test after Aus Series. But I am really shocked to hear this before the completion of the ongoing series)
The over aggression by some of the players in the team, which is not his way of playing. Some players carried away too much. Very sad to say it looks like the success went to their Head. The difference in opinions has started.
