No one is questioning his talent or commitment. But its time to move on. India has got a good crop of youngster coming up. There will be definitely a transition period (like Australia, Pak, WI is going through). India may lose a few matches. But this is the correct time to make the changes and test the next gen. World Cup is also 2-3 years away.

Might be true....But only for one days...How come tests and the team grooming related to the world cup?

biggest liability in test is dhoni. See dhoni test record in lat 7 overseas series. he will never get place in team. But due to add contract & Srinivasan he will be there in test for next 5 yrs

biggest liability in the team is SRT. look at his dismal record. getting out to club class bowlers even on home pitches. good for shivaji park cricket. most useless player ever to play for the country.

why is your backside burning if captain, selectors and fans have no problems with him being in the team????

It would have been good if tendulkar figures were also shown in last 30 innings that he played outside india as we know how much worth he was on domestic circuit. It would be clear doodh ka doodh paani kaa paani

don ,
let thses youngsters play for 24 years. give them the assurance that they will never be dropped. ask them to chose their own batting order. then show these statistics. entire world will laugh at you & at sachin.

wcpak, why don't you focus your energies and abuses at the loser paki team. see how they lost the odi yesterday against south africa. pathetic buddhas like younis, afridi and misbah forget about scoring they are not even able to encourage the youngsters in their side.

instead of criticizing don, why don't you come up with some statistics to disapprove his claim..you prove that the youngsters are really good..
Re: Re: Re: Re: Averages of great youngsters

I am not comparing. All i am saying is that the youngsters have not yet proved themselves overseas. Once they do that, Sachin himself will pave the way. But until then, you have no right to ask for Tendulkar's exit.

you got it wrong..sachin when he was young played a lot of good cricket, broke records and played attacking game. sure, he was not able to lead from the front (a failed captain) but otherwise his record is awesome..can you say the same thing about the young cricketers..even I believe that it is hightime sachin retired from cricket, but other experts who knows cricket much better disagrees. they believe that there is still cricket left in tendlya..

Not just due to regional politics & corruption but also because he was a favorite of Indian corporates who made him a marketing icon and money minting machine for themselves!
Sachin was lucky to be at the right place at the right time!
With the Indian media already having hyped up his average skills, he was a made to order dream for Indian corporates and advertisers!
One can be certain , as to when could be the probable retirement of Dhoni and Sehwag. But no chance - with Sachin. He will continue till Arjun Tendulkar makes his debut , ten years hence. It is a mindless debate and Sachin refusing to walk into the sunset. The bench strength of the next generation cricketers will continue to age on the bench, with no sign of the little master hanging his gloves, and stats crazy cricket nation will watch Sachin hobbling to the batting crease into his 50th year.
