He will come back strongly in the series v/s England in the year 2022. till then he will be in the team on the merit of his past records. No one will dare to ask him to step down.

he has been trying hard enough ever since England series. he tried in Australia. good that we had a series against Bangladesh that he got his 100...now also he is trying hard to get back in rhythm but against quality bowling that seems overambitious

Babe Ruth-Famous American Baseball Player once said: Yesterday's home runs don't win today's games. We cannot keep sitting on his past records and say Sachin is the greatest player in the world. He is a selfish sportsperson playing for numbers & records.

Different rules
by Yogesh Hasabnis on Nov 27, 2012 02:00 PM

Many cricket viewers are being so lenient and polite about the failures of India's most famous batsman of recent times. I remember about one Sourav Ganguly. People used to shout and bark and abuse at every failure of his. They used to hold Sourav responsible for everything bad in Indian cricket and used to question his place in the side and shout for his sacking every now and then. And that too even after Sourav being the person who changed the course of Indian cricket history. And now, everybody is finding ways and excuses for retaining Mr. SRT and even Mr. Dhoni........Strange world this !!!!!!

The main thing is not of whehther Sachin will perform well in 3rd & 4th test but when will he be retire? Sachin already refused to retire & now this is the responsibility of selection comittee to drop him immediately after this series for ever.

Sitting in pavilion would be better

People may not find it proper to say that Sachin should go. He has been one of the greatest cricketers the world has ever produced but it is quite clear that he should make way for others. If he is not heeding the writing on the wall the selectors should speak to him and show him the right way back to pavilion.

As is evident he is adamant on continuing despite several failures. But who will bell the cat and muster the courage to ask him to step down?

althogough I insist that Sachin should be dropped henceforth, Kapil has no right to say as he himself was guilty of the same thing what Sachin is doing, namly playing for records and money.Sachin has gone down in ICC rating to such low that any good team would not select him, and so was the case of Kapil also

Tendulkar

This is a peculiar situation which Sachin has never have faced in his entire career. Personally speaking, I believe that he has still couple of years cricket left in him. My suggestion will be for Sachin to go back to the nets and work on the problems that might have crept in his batting, under the watchful eyes of Gavaskar and Fletcher. He must be selected for the remaining 2 tests against England in this series. At the end of the series, Sachin, the captain, Fletcher and the selection committee members should sit together and decide whether he should call it a day then or would continue on series to series basis. But the outcome of that meeting would very much hinge on how Sachin fares in the next 2 tests.

It is not just two tests Sachin has played against Ingland. He has played 3 tests against NZ and failed in all the three tests. He need not have to retire but let him find out why he is failing in all the innings. His personal coach or national coach could able to tell him his flaws. We should not see the past and we should not be biased. If any player is failing continuously the he must be dropped and give him time to rectify his mistakes. And let other players in form shall be allowed to play. Every player will pass through this phase. But our Ex players should not say that Tendulkar should not be dropped ,He only will decide when to stop playing cricket is no meaning at all .We must see that a strong available team shall be played and win
