Sachin is still bringing revenue for BCCI. 18 sponsor and endoresements is only second highest to MSD. As per BCCI a player is valued and retained not by performance but by the revenue he brings to the board. It just simply doesn't apply to Indian cricket. The day sponsor pull their contracts, Rajeev Shukla and Pawar himself will kick Sachin out. Unless then he won't retire himself nor will selectors kick him out. Tenda will continue to play IPL at any cost and welcome more sponsor
Most Our Heroes End Up as Zeroes mainly because they do not retire gracefully. Foreign players gracefully retire even when they are good form but when they realize it is enough. Unfortunately our cricket heroes do not retire until they are literally necked out.
Why are we blaming only Sachin for the Mumbai debacle. What did Viru, Yuvraj, Virat, MSD and Gambhir do as batsmen. Collectively they scored about 150 runs both the innings taken together. Pieterson alone scored 178. We dug a grave for the visiting team but fell in it ourselves. The selectors should call all the players and tell them that they are dispensable and that performance only will decide whether they will remain in the team for the next test. The bowlers, less said about them is better. I personally feel Harbhajan is a much better bowler than Aswin. He needs to be ecouraged. If they fail once again please show them the door out and bring young uncapped talented players for the last test. Let us lose in the process of building a new team, ateast the youngsters will get a chance to learn.

Because when all others fail, a hero should rise to the occasion and help his team march forward. A hero would not say he failed, so I also failed.

Sachin plays with broken hands and still has broken all records. When he retires after 20 years he will break all records everywhere in the world.

let sachin enjoy with anjali as long as he can, but in the cricket field he can't enjoy as he failed completely. The greatest selfish fellow india ever had has to be kicked out.

Well said. I think what Kapil does not see here is that most of the 20 years of cricket was becuase of Sachin and if he is in a lean patch at present, others need to rise to the occasion and back him up. Sachin is the most unselfish player in the team and I think he may be wanting to come up with some records for the nation and in the process may be wanting to continue till the goal which is near to accomplish it.

Now being an RS member, like all MPs and Politician there is no retirement age prescribed for Tendulkar.
Please understnad the fact that sachin is now a politician and that too a congresi and no politician want to resign or retire from position of power or profit. If we leave it on sachin to decide his career plan, i am sure he will play upto 2014 till general election and after that will become the coach of indian side. he nows very well that BCCI is with him and selectros have no guts to drop him as they get the salary from BCCI..
