Retirement
by Ajai Jacob on Mar 20, 2012 02:51 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin cannot retire by himself. He is the richest cricketer ever in history. He is bound by the ad agreements with corporates which is not available to pubic eyes.
He will play till the selectors sack him.And the selectors are paid off by the corporates to retain him as long as possible.
Indian industry is more important than Indian cricket.Hahahaha!!

sachin haters....
by stephen dmello on Mar 20, 2012 12:16 PM  | Hide replies

Out of Sachin’s 100 centuries, India won 53 matches (winning percentage 53%)
Where as,
Out of Pontings 71 centuries, Aussies won 55 matches (winning percentage 77%)
Out of Kallis 59 centuries, SA won 33 matches (winning percentage 55%)
Now,
Just compare Indian bowlers & fielders with Australian & South African bowlers & fielders…. You will come to know, why India’s winning percentage is low, even though Sachin’s scored century.
Most of Sachins efforts are overshadowed by our bad bowling & fielding…

if a player score just 2 centuries and the teams wins both matches, the winning percentage is 100%. That doesn't make the player the greatest, but it is how many centuries and how many years of contribution he has been "CONSISTENTLY" putting in is what matters. There were many who start with great promise but fall up within a few years, and hence Sachin's achievement is huge and he is certainly the best.

sachin at number 3 or 4
by kumar on Mar 20, 2012 07:43 AM

In cricket, the best batsman in the side usually bats at number 3 or 4 in the order. sachin should not be the opening batsman.

THE SACHIN SAGA--II
by damodaran mohan on Mar 19, 2012 06:51 PM  | Hide replies

…….gradually Sachin’s glow started diminishing ….what with a stylish off-side player in a Ganguly with his aggression and captaincy….bunch of match saviors in a WALL…like Dravid…a Very Very Special Laxman …then those outright match winners in likes of one and only one Sehwag.. …an exploding Yuvi….this was the time when loyalties of fans shifted away from Sachin to these other later lots if not the younger lots who were actually contributing more for team India in terms of positive results for their side than Sachin himself who was seen to be somehow plodding along more out of his character and discipline ….Sachin looked more like that old and ragged ‘Jugad’ run m/c far less relevant for the results but his achievements and milestones made him larger than life figure …ademi-God…with practically no one who mattered ever daring to assess him objectively making him virtually call the shots in respect of his place in the side……next came more such talent…in the form of Dhoni..Gambhir..now Virat.. Rohit….and many more younger talents are waiting in the wings…after the two whitewashes in England and Aus …and more …with Sachin looking helpless and tired….I am not sure Sachin has any more purpose to continue…… all good things in life has to come to an end and the ‘timing’ of that end what makes it ‘dignified

THE SACHIN SAGA---I
by damodaran mohan on Mar 19, 2012 06:43 PM  | Hide replies

So, the whole nation not just Sachin is relieved that the magical HH arrived at last ! The earliest brilliance of Sachin this blogger can remembers and recollect is that at Perth of Sachin thrashing Shae Warne. Instant cartoons from the stands with captions like ...'who is spinning whom shane....?' and many others against every Sacin's whipping of Warne beamed on TV added to the excitement and reflected glimpses of the future genius. Then came more and more centuries , Indian captaincy ….Sachin became not just most famous Indian cricketer of all times but also world cricketer with those “playing like Don” moment… and many more. However those times the Indian side was a very weak side with India looking like virtually a ‘one man army’. Perhaps that was why as captain Sachin’s performance was not all that impressive and many Sachin fans including this blogger would switch –off the TV out of frustration the moment Sachin would get out because the inevitable end result was more or less ordained. Enter late nineties , the post match –fixing testing times followed by the Y2K era …. Sachin gives up captaincy and then finally the ‘Ganguly-gang ‘--- Dravid, Laxman,Sehwag, Yuvraj, Bhajji, Zaheer…. join Sachin … a turning .point when likes of Yuvraj, Sehwag …..were looking as talented if not more as Sachin himself and who more importantly were ‘influencing’ resu

Must read by sachin bashers in particular
by Ravi House on Mar 19, 2012 02:14 PM  | Hide replies

Match winning theory itself brought to counter sachin's unparalled performance and popularity. There are so many examples for that. Recent one is when Virat scored a century against lanka team scored 304 and india won it by 50 runs. When lanka can be beaten with 304 on the board why not bangla with 290 on the board. Then automatically they would tell that it is because of sachin's selfishness india lost. If it so two pakistan openers scored hundreds, did pakistan lose because of their selfishness? No one would talk about that.

The mere fact why sachin is the greatest player ever is the way he has been targetted by his bashers without any logical reason behind which only goes to show that there is no other topic in cricket beyond sachin. Whatever be the topic sachin will be the end target since his bashers do not know anything beyond sachin. They do not know how the game is played. How many players are playing. Whether the particular game could have been won or not with or without his performance. They would see the end result and put the blame on sachin if it is lost and take the credit away from sachin if it is won.

How many people logically think that the game cannot be lost by an individual as it cannot be won by an individual either. They only know to simply put the blame on sachin. This is where the other players have the greatest advantage when they play along side sachin. They have the license to fail.

They simply will not be blamed for the failures of the team as long as sachin is there. But still they are failing and that is another story. When some players do succeed then they are projected as better than sachin which again shows that sachin is the
scale through which success can be measured.

For them the matches where sachin fails become the most crucial of all mathces and the matches where he scores are not so important. Under dhoni's captaincy be it test series or odi tournament barring few series in which he had not played sachin had scored centuries in all those india had won which is very big stat. They simply won't talk about that. Instead they would blame sachin if the team had lost when he scored centuries. Going by the same logic with no intention of degrading Dravid, let me ask them how many matches india won in england when dravid scored 3 centuries. Why do not they call them as selfish since he scored for losing cause. If sachin had done the same he would have been criticised for the same. Do any player know that a particular match would be lost so he should not score on that?

Mostly, baring few, the performance for a losing cause will be played as a lone battle. Going by that one who battles alone against all odds will be considered greater than the ones who perform well amidst many supportive performances. If this is not a parameter to gauge a calibre of a player then what would be the parameter?

But these people would come with a new theory that playing for winning cause. Winning never hinged on one player's performance alone. One can contribute bigger than the others which sachin did on so many occasions but still winning needs supportive roles be it batting or bowling. They either do not know this logic or they may be fooling themselves by ignoring this fact for the sake of criticising sachin.

congrats to kohli

His innings was superb. he plays well he does not gives much chances to opposite team to get out . But Sachin once again disappointed a lot . His game is now really not like he used to play earlier. He missed many deliveries and got out trying to play cheap shot.Sachin got out on crucial time as he always does . but it may be a boon for the team . as he was not able to hit big shots. he does not have any right to occupy place in the team . he has got his 100 th century he must retire. too much of any thing can disgrace him. i was once a diehard fan of him but now i feel he is selfish . if he does not retire now in coming days many of his fans will request him to retire . that for sure.

Dear Kalpak,
Sachin is already semi retired from odi well before all this talk. He is only playing few mathces. Then you people call him that he is choosing matches and he should not be allowed to do so. He is not bigger than the country. If he plays more odis then you would start crying that he is not allowing others to play. Cricket is not a charitable organisation where one should give others something freely. Everthing should be earned. I honestly believe that sachin still plays by earning his place and not by somebody's courtesy. But sachin bashers would not even accept this fact simply because they do not like him. No other reasons for that. Only 8 matches he failed now one century followed by one fifty. And you are writing him off.
