COUNTRY AND COUNTRYMEN ARE ONE AND THE SAME
by Ravi House on Mar 19, 2012 11:37 AM  | Hide replies

Many times we people are ashamed to be indians because we have to live in a country where sachin bashers are living. Even australia is still hailing Bradman after 75 years. What does it mean? Is is not hailing individual more than a country? Then why you people hail kapil dev or a gavaskar or a viswanathan anand for that matter. What is the definition of a country for that matter? Nothing but a collection of individuals? Those individuals who bring laurels to the country should be patronised if one really loves his country. Instead in india it is vice versa. A land of hyprocrats.

If people like you think so then why are you saying he is not bigger than the country. This issue should not have been raised by you people from the outset.

Yes,he is never bigger than the nation.

Will Sachin allow you to stay in his house,if by chance you are thrown out of your country for anti-national activities ?

You have totally misunderstood we sachin fans. At no point of time sachin fans told that he is bigger than the country. It is you sachin bashers say that he should retire because he is not bigger than the country. Then we would support him with the same right as you people have been supporting other players. But because of the fact that sachin gets support from more people you frustrated bashers start saying that he is no bigger than the country. It is sign of your frustration. That's it.

Ravi you have just undermined your own arguement. that shows that you have only one brain cell. Bradman is hailed because he was a unselfish sportsman. Probably still a middle class. Australians do not put him above the country. And please do not be proud of cricketrs bringing laurels to India...There are not many countries in the world which play cricket. BY thw cricket is a game not a sport. Name one guy died while playing cricket due to excertion...Raman Lamba died due to Head injury. Google how many footballers die playing the sport. I am not a hypocrite...Given the oppurtunity you will defenitely find the job in a western country...Just because you did not get the oppurtunity does not make you more patriot than I am.

First of all thank you for having accepted that iam having one brain cell atleast. This is not a blog for finding who is more intelligent than the others. Let you be more intelligent than me. When you raised the debate of feeling ashamed for being indian, i have put my views on that. You people think that when aussies and english praise their heroes they are only praising and when we praise our heroes we are putting them above country. We never told that sachin is bigger than the country and at the same time we tell that he is far better than other countryman for which he should be treated specially which in no way means that he is above country. I hope you would understand since you got the oppurtunity in to work in foreign land.

Ravi if sachin was really playing for country he would have retired after the world cup. i do not want to debate more on this. i admire rahul dravid for his contribution to the team. If sachin played for ausies he would have been dropped long back. Yes indeed he is one of the best batsmen in the so called commonwealth sport, but he only played for records and thats very evident. So I will be ashamed to be an Indian as long as this mentality stays. Why haven't you commented on the physique and hard work side of cricket. You clearly know the cricket is a time pass in summer to pass the whole day...India without cricket may have been better than china today.

sachin's retirement.
by pramod shendye on Mar 19, 2012 11:30 AM

Many people feel that after achieving the target of 100th hundred, sachin has no more records to make, but it is not correct. Sachin has not scored a tripple century in international cricket. He has to achieve this target also.

Grow up India
by godwin v on Mar 19, 2012 11:22 AM  | Hide replies

Sometimes I am very ashamed to be be indian. India is the only country to cheer for personal records and putting a sportsman above a country. Sachin plays a game which hardly 10 countries play and only 5-6 are good at it. it is ridiculus to call cricket a sport. it is a game and thats the end of it. anything with lunch cannot be sport, wheather it is golf or cricket. Indian youngsters could do so much better if they cheered and supported shorter and hard-working sports. Sachin is a jerk and all his supporters and bigger jerks.

It's shameful to call cricket a game. I too feel ashamed to be Indian to see people go craze for a game which is nothing but inherently a betting event.

Be it Sachin or Ganguly mostly played for individual records than truly to make India win & shine...India has an obstacle to
become a sporting nation.

There is no place for the true games played in majority of the nations...

Absolutely it is sad that hard working sports have no value. Cricket is only played by common wealth countries of England. Nowadays Holland Plays but no better than a University team. It is such a shame. Look at the physique of a cricetr and a footballer....Hard work...

Then for that matter chess should not be included as a game. But all american and european countries are playing it as a game. For india it is cricket which has got more value. It is as simple as that. Shall we call boxing as game of tribes?
