Why should you compare two great cricketers. Does it make sense when the worlds best cricketers and fans have decided for themselves who is the best. So why compare? Isnt it sad for cricket when such comparisons are made? Do they make sense Mr. Bhaskar?

only indians can do such dirty comparisons...shame on the author

Its really ugly what this man Ravi Bhaskar is doing. One should not degrade ones own countrymen like this. Instead appreciate both. Ravi seems to have a biased opinion and lacks clarity in his thinking. Attending a rehabilitation center would help.

Sachin is the Sun and Dravid is the Moon

Even Dravid would not dare say that he was a greater batsman than Sachin.Dravid was truly great with fine technique and great powers of concentration. He played a stellar role in many test victories overseas. But if you analyse the overall batting styles of Sachin and Dravid, you would realise that Dravid lacked the domination over the opposition bowling which Sachin had.
Sachin could tear apart any bowling attack on any day.He could dictate his terms to the opposition specially in the One day Format of the game.
We can say that Sachin was a more complete player with both defensive and aggressive styles playing as per the situation of the match. To put it better Sachin could bat as defensivly as Dravid but Dravid would not be able to match Sachin's aggression.

Sadly thats a false perception.
Records were created on their own due to Sachin's dedication and love for the game. What happened to talented players like Kambli, etc.Where did they disappear. Why didn't they succeed.Because they didn't play for records???Even in last world cup Sachin scored must number of runs by an Indian. So that contributed to India's score and we won the world cup eventually. We should not be blindly critical for the sake of it.Dravid was a great player undoubtedly.Only because Sachin has a great career record he shouldn't be criticised. Can you and me have that record even if we desire. The answer is NO.Sachin has this astounding record because of his talent, sincerity and love for cricket.

Face Dude
Sunil Gavaskar tops them all
by Face Dude on Mar 16, 2012 11:06 PM

Yes, both SRT and Dravid come a shade below when it comes to playing in test cricket. Sunil manohar Gavaskar stands tall when it comes to temperament, technique, fighting spirit and single minded focus on winning / saving the matches. His fourth innings chases are some the best in cricket records and so are his third innings knocks to fight save India from innings defeat. I think Gavaskar faced a wide battery of top class bowlers without much physical protection.

Please put Sunil Gavaskar as the top Indian batsmen, then we can deliberate about having to consider Dravid or Tendulkar after that!

Dravid's Finesse
by Prabhakar kommaravolu on Mar 16, 2012 06:18 PM

Dravid was there everytime India needed. It is true. I tend to agree while Dravid has done all the donkey's job, All flair and records have gone to Tendulkar. While Steve waugh was not flamboyant, gifted, natural cricketer, he always delivered when most needed. So is Dravid, ground out the opposition bowlers so that other following including sachin could score and make records. Dravid to Indian Batting is what Steve waugh was to Australian Batting. Good article Ravi. Keep up the good work.
