if Sachin retired, same bhaskar will provide new stats that how SRT greater than RD.hahhaa..all this marketing gimmics of rediff for readers to read...as no articlee compltes without SRT nowdays.......regd SRT on 194 ,dravid declaration...india has very much ample time (we won by keeping 1 and half day ), so 2 more over does not matter much that time....it was Saurav who insisted sachin that time which was daylight truth,
Analysis that clearly reveals the greatness of Dravid in comparison to Tendulkar.Everything mentioned is not subjective but an objective assessment of Dravid's contributions. Thanks for this. I honestly agree to what Bhaskar said.

This is what you call objective!!! Come on!!! Completely one sided bashing... Dravid has just 4 tons agaisnt the best teams of our era..SA and australia. His test and ODI averages are below average against them. On the opposite side, Sachin has almsot 40 tons against them with great averages too. And not to forget that dravid has unsportsmanly strike rate in tests. He just played to save his wicket unlike other greats of the game. Sachin has more winning test tons than him with same average. Sachin has played innumerable lone battles. Whereas dravid was always a player who depended on team support. All victories of dravid involves some fantastic contribution from his team mates , infact dravid was mostly in supporting act. In ODIs too, out of his 12 tons, he has only 4 MoMs. Dravid never scored when team fell badly when india lost badly. Thats why he has so few test tons in losing causes unlike the true greats sachin and lara. And still, sachin had so many injuries which changed his batting completely. Otherwise he would have killed these boelers of our era. In this decade of 2000s , so many people average 50 in tests . Highest for any era. Because bowlers , pitches weren't great. So, lesser batsman like kallis, ponting, dravid, sangakarra, made merry. True greats like sachin and lara performed against the very best. Sachin averaged a whopping 58 in 90s in possibly the toughest era for batting. Only 4 batsman averaged 50 in 90s. Whereas in 2000s, almost 15 have it.

This is not wonderful. This is completely blind praising of one and degrading other. Sachin is anyday better!
IAM GLAD YOU PRAISED DRAVID, STILL IAM UNHAPPY THAT WHY SHOULD YOU DEGRADE SACHIN. THE ONLY REASON I FIND IS YOUR TERRIFING LOVE FOR DRAVID. UNDERSTAND OUR HEART IS THE BEST ARENA THERE YOU HAVE A SPL CROWN FOR DRAVID DONT EXPECT THE SAME FROM ALL. EVERY ONE HAVE THEIR OWN INTERESTS AND FEELINGS. YOU SAID CRICKET IS A GENTLE MAN GAME THEN WHY THIS MUCH FUSS AND OVERREACTION.
Whether an indivudual brilliant inning is a match winning or not, also depends on what and how others contribute in the team. If others contribute aswell we win, if they dont we lose. As simple as that.
There are so many instance when sachin has staged a lone battle in tests, with little support at other end we have lost.
If we are discounting such innings then i am sorry but that is us being mean and selfish.
Yes he is really great and a perfect cricketer with nice temperament, consistency, character etc which other cricketers lack though they perform well. According to me he is the best and every indian should be proud of him.
Yes, both SRT and Dravid come a shade below when it comes to playing in test cricket. Sunil manohar Gavaskar stands tall when it comes to temperament, technique, fighting spirit and single minded focus on winning / saving the matches. His fourth innings chases are some the best in cricket records and so are his third innings knocks to fight save India from innings defeat. I think Gavaskar faced a wide battery of top class bowlers without much physical protection.
Please put Sunil Gavaskar as the top Indian batsmen, then we can deliberate about having to consider Dravid or Tendulkar after that!
