Does not matter

It does not matter.

All matches are fixed.

It is more important to know who is fixing the match than who is the team captain.

This way you know the outcome in advance and you can make some money.

kohli is playing his cards the opposite way while gambhir barks for captaincy.

quite like how jaitley from advani camp is lining up with Modi when Advani is barking and roping oldies for the cannon fodder.

look at last two away series - same is more true for Ghambir then. Ghambir averages 20 in Eng Aus vs Dhoni's 27 for the same series. check the facts before making useless arguments.

Fact is both of them are very much flat track bullies and Ghambir was even worse looking at his overall average compared to paltry away series avg against top teams ..

no wonder you are from Chennai
can't agree to that. Dhoni's comment about slow movers came under sharp criticism for right reasons. He is questioning presence of big match winners in the team including Sehwag, and Gambhir when his own record in away series is the last thing he should be proud off. He has shown big biases in team selection and playing RP Singh is a classic example of giving favors to old friends. His body language that gave him captain cool title was no where to be seen in losing positions. Faulty filed placements, failing to inspire bowlers and fileders was evident. He misreably failed to keep the team together - an essential requirement for captain. It is time for him to go at least in tests. He is does not even deserve to be included in the team as a default player.

This Chennai super kings lobby has to be broken with BCCI head, cheif selector and India Captain from one IPL frenchise is an obevious conflict of interest case. Taking away wise captaincy from Gambhir for no apparent reason only because he is close to Sehwag and giving it to a kid on the block with bad attitude on field like Virat Kohli is also questionable.

Why now just after one IPL series?
by mohan kumar on Jun 15, 2012 12:58 AM

I really don't understand why someone is raising this bogey just after one IPL series? So if Gambhir loses the next IPL, do we start calling for his resignation then? Typical behavior? Give time for Gambhir to mature in the role for a couple of years. If it is Kohli after Dhoni, so be it but we don’t need captaincy change every now and then.

Test cricket is irrelevant
by Gurjot Singh on Jun 15, 2012 12:38 AM  | Hide replies

Tests are irrelevant. IPL is the real cricket and where the money is. India reached the top ranking in all form of cricket, including test matches. Indian players and public are smart enough to lose complete interest in test matches. This is a big positive development. Who cares if Dhoni or Gambhir leads in tests?

ch-nandan test match is the real cricket because it completely tests all 11 players of one team.

Batting skills required at test level must be of highest level. Dhoni's skills are sufficient for ODIs and T20s but not for tests.

agree with you. going by that logic the suuper exciting Dhoni should retire from test cricket and continue to play T20 - fix all the matches and become a hero. Just leave the serious cricket to proper players. thanks.

we in India is most intolerant people as far as cricket is conscern, one- two failures of somebody, we can not digest and we lose sportsman spirit, hope we improve upon this quality and take the game as game and should not start doing favorism because of silly reasons. And expect people to show their intolerance in eliminating nuisances in india like using the same attitude towards poilticians
