I don't agree with Gambhir...

I don't believe in the theory that a captain is as good as team. If this is so a weak can never have good captain which is wrong. S.Fleming was excellent captain despite weak team.

very ambitious gauti. i suggest you just keep playing your game and enjoy- like sachin. let the dirty job of being the captain be handled by someone else. let this win in IPL not get into your head. place your feet firm on the ground

Dont forget the stalwarts like Shehwag, Gambhir, etc performance in the recent tournaments before IPL. They have taken out their game for money. All is forgotten, public memory is So short?

What a joke!

People conveniently forget (or want others to forget) the drubbing that they got in an overseas tour. All Indian guys did very well in IPL but guess what it is called Indian Premier League and it is played in India and it is a T20 tournament.

Dhoni is just an average test player
by Mahesh V on Jun 02, 2012 09:25 PM  | Hide replies

He should be removed from test captaincy. He can remain ODI and T20 captain.
All people who argue that he made India no. 1 in tests are forgetting that India played nearly all series at home.

Well said!!
I don't think his captaincy is that bad, but his keeping and batting are just not good enough for tests.
Of course, on the other hand, while he "was" a smart tactician, some of his moves are getting predictable.

He is just a media overhyped captain. India became no 1 test team because all series were played in sub-continent conditions.

thats why he averages highest only after sachin and dravid outside india. Your dhoni has an average of 9 runs in aus, sa and england and he is not aggressive at all.

india has lost last 15 test matches played aborad by innings defeat. This has never happened before.
