it is very irritating to see a talented youngster like murali vijay to wait for selection only bcos this man dont retire. just show him the door, if he wants to play let him do so by playing for mumbai ranji team

- Murali Vijay can not be the right replacement. He is playing good 20 -20 cricket for CSK, not for country.
However, as u said, you can give him some more opportunity

He played well for CSK 20-20 only in last 2-3 matches. Otherwise he was pathetic and no good for international level matches.

Murali Vijay's so-called talent is limited to IPL & Champions League only. Didn't you see 2010-11 test series vs South Africa?? Murali Vijay was peeing in his pants facing Steyn & Co.

we have also seen sachin peeing in hsi pants facing aus and eng bowlers in the 2 whitewashes...

by the way let me tell murali vijay's test record till now is very similar to sachin's test record...so we can say that murali vijay is as good as sachin or that sachin is bad as murali vijay..
BCCI, Sachin-fans & most of the Sachin-haters, all will be agreed that selectors have been trying to find Sachin's replacement from a long time. They tested- - Rohit Sharma - Yusuf Pathan - R. Jadeja - Rahane etc & many more..
The fact remains that no body was able to replace him. Anf if your experiments are failing, you better go back to the tested & proven.. like Sachin.
On same lines, if some one is really talented, like Kohli & Raina), people will make way for them like Dravid & Lakshman did.
Let them find a replacement first in domestic cricket.
I know, once people get Sachin's replacement, they will pick someone else for criticism.. may be Zaheer is next.

by Sunil Vaidya on Jul 17, 2012 09:53 PM
gambhir and kohli are more than adequate replacemts for sachin as they have proved so many times...they are both better than sachin and their records and stats proves it...so sachin replacements are already found. no need to search for more ....

i dont understand how you call rohit, pathan and jadeja as sahcin replacements...can you see the difference in batting position between sachin and the above mentioned playes by you? tomorrow you may even say that bcci tried umesh yadav and varun aaron as sahcin replacements...such a silly post...

Please get your stats right. If he got first 100 against Aus in 2008 then who was hitting Australians all around the park in Sharjah in 1998 and scored back to back to hundreds ( on consecutive days) and helped India first enter the final and then lift the trophy??
To be honest, i also wanted Sachin to retire after 2011 world cup on a high but i respect his decision since he happens to be the world's best batsman of the modern era. We need to give him this much freedom at least.
1. Last time India did well was in World Cup and in 2010. This was the time Sachin was in peak form even hitting a double century.
2. Sachin played only 2 ODI series after World Cup and India lost both of them badly, so why blame Sachin only. It was a team failure. The tough series in England that Sachin did not play, India was whitewashed in ODI series.
3. Tell me a single time when Indian team has done well in a tough situation(in Aus, SA or Eng OR facing Aus or SA at home) in ODIs without Sachin.
Given 3 factors above, Sachin is doing right thing by not playing easy tournaments like the soon to be played series in Lanka or ODI series against West Indies. Youngsters are getting lot of chances in these series. But when tough teams play, Sachin makes himself available and it has been seen till now that only when he performs in tough series, India does well.
The day India does well in a tough series without Sachin, he will retire himself thinking India can do well without him. Thats exactly what happened after T20 World Cup. Blaming Sachin for team failures against tough teams is not the correct thing as is being done by many emotional people here. You advise your players so much, for once, you as a fan start thinking of the team, not individual

In last 2 years India played 35 ODI match in absence of Sachin. India won 22 and lost 11.

you have a gap in your intellect. did you even understand what i was trying to say vis-a-vis tough and easy teams? don't just quote useless overall statistics without any reasoning.

How nice of you Anurag to get such wonderful statistics.... Hey, did you observe that India in the last 2 years has played 16 matches without Dhoni and managed to win 12 of them. So, it means India can do without Dhoni as well. Ohh, i forgot..... Dhoni's performance should not be questioned.
Ravi shastri has won all tests captained by him and so he has 100% success rate and therefore is the best captain in the history of test cricket. But is it really correct?
Ravi shastri had captained India only in 1 test which Indian won.
Statistics is like that!!
Sachin's record is after 20 years of playing against the best bowlers of different countries in different match conditions and different times.

Bradman's, Lara's, Sober's .. record is also OUTSTANDING.. Does that mean they should continue till OLD AGE??..
Re: Re: Sachin the best
by Sree Kumar on Jul 16, 2012 05:53 PM
What is old age for a player? When he stops performing. Sachin is still among the top 3 Indian batsmen in both tests and ODI. Times have changed. We should understand that with new fitness regime and training standards, sports players are able to perform till much older age. We should not keep ourselves hostage to old concepts.
Re: Re: Sachin the best
by nityanand tiwari on Jul 17, 2012 05:48 AM
Its not about age. If you can score runs and if you are doing it better than how others are scoring then YES you should play till you are able to do that. He is working harder than others and scoring more than most of the team members so he should stay. The best eleven should play always.

It is your opinion and perhaps not a fact. seems like more than sachin playing, you are worried about the money he gets. Going by your thoughts. You want to feel good about yourself and beleive that that you dont care for money, there is nothing more to this post, and its not even related to Sachin, , I bet you will do what ever to make money
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Chandra Gupta Maurya!!
by Vrishti on Jul 16, 2012 09:31 PM
half baked brains devi, Smith scored 90 and Boucher also slammed a half century. But in this case, all of them folded up and only Raina gave good support.
India will be benefitted If Sachin is out of limited over cricket because that space will give a chance to young player to prove him. There are at present so many young players wating for a chance.
Re: Is India will be better team in ODI without Sachin?

yes there are thousands of sachin waiting, you cannot spoil their career for just one sachin.
