Sack Sehwag, Gambhir...rest VVS and Dravid
by niranjan raju on Jan 15, 2012 06:58 AM  | Hide replies

The 2 best so called openers Sehwag and Gambhir need to be shown the door and sent back to State level games...they are an absolute waste to Test matches. While Gambhir did an OK job in NZ, he and Sehwag were total failures in England and Australia. Both of them struggle for form in non-sub-continental wickets. If that's the case, lets keep them explicitly for Test matches being played in India.

I think it's time Dravid and VVS take rest. They have been playing brilliantly and their performance record speaks for itself. But age is catching up with them. And Dhoni, well, he should be captaining the only the ODI team in India. We need someone like Kohli who can be groomed into a captain for series abroad.

Ex-players Calling for Dhoni's Head
by jr abraham on Jan 15, 2012 06:43 AM  | Hide replies

First of all the ex-players could not play as well as the current crop of players. They make noise only to keep themselves engaged. Just because one or two series losses is not the end of the world. Every game has a win and a loss, so accept it and moved forward with necessary corrective action.

IPL
by vellayani on Jan 15, 2012 06:16 AM

Why is nobody talking about the IPL which has messed up layers techniques and more importantly minds?
Very few have escaped the ravages. Raina is one prime example.
Most of the young guns who are talked about to replace the 3 have been prospering in IPL and the T20 format.
It remains to be seen how many have the stomach for Test cricket.
Kohli seems to be somebody who wants to do well.
Rohit sharma looks like he has matured finally.
Pujara also has not played much of IPL i guess.

Apart from these 3 we do not know who else could fill the shoes of the present players.

There is a real danger of India going the Windies way soon if the BCCI is not serious.

develop a long term strategy like the Aussies not the Pakis!
by saurabh verma on Jan 15, 2012 06:05 AM  | Hide replies

Removing Dhoni is not the solution. The team never had a chance to regroup under the new coach. A coach is a key position in the team and a change there can affect the team's performance as its clear since no one is able to perform. So axing Dhoni cannot be the solution. In the next 5 years 8 players will retire T'kar, Dravid, Laxman, Dhoni, Gauti, Viru, Zak n Bhajji. So, why not do it like the Aussies n not the Pakis. They Groomed Clarke for the post for 4 yrs n did not axe ponting. Now when he is ready he is performing well under ponting's guidance until he feels confident after which ponting will go. Similarly we should groom Raina or Kohli for the post of captain n in the mean while give the team a chance to regroup. Madan lal wants fresh ideas... well he's a bit old too. Why not have fresh ideas at that level? BCCI should look to form a competitive team n not go about minting money from tournaments. Once the team is ready, they will perform any where.

DHONI should think differently for test matches format !
by peeribandi laxmiprasad on Jan 15, 2012 05:53 AM

Hi,

Dhoni should get more test matches to win the games, becoz test matches are totally different version. He is the person who is capable to lead but he need improve his creative ideas to this format.he can and he will improve with this failure.Becoz,I feel that every failure experience is a way to success.Ofcourse, one are two changes need be made replacement like Rohit sharma should there.
