Its a big shame to conclude that IPL has made a lot of overseas players overnight million dollar men.At the same time a lot of Indian talents are going to waste. Its a big shame that Gavaskar is speaking out his mind.Srikant walks a narrow line with the established players.BCCI should interfere now and rescue a national sport.

BCCI -there need sanity friend .Can you expect anything in this country ,anything -which can be excellent with so many polititicians invovled from all parties .They are all togehter for one reason and only one -Loot Royal loot.
I think the major changes we can inticipate would be to incorporate youngsters in the ODI side so that way they can get some exposure to the Australian conditions.
Since Yuvraj is not ready, the lineup should look like:
Gambhir Rahane Kohli Tiwari Rohit Raina Dhoni
Praveen, Vinay, Munaf and Ashwin
Pujara, Munaf and Jadeja can be backups.
The good thing is most of the ODI team is the same as the Test batting, since the Australia ODIs are low scoring and require Test application skills.
I don't think any of the seniors have to be dropped. There will be mostly home series in the next few years and they can concentrate on phasing them out gradually.
It would be better if the current Indian senior batting lineup batted freely like they did in the 2nd Test. The press and the media had hyped up the WACA pitch to be quick and Shewag got out to a tentative prod thinking that the pitch was going to seam.
The psychological effect on the Indian batting needs to be recovered and let the seniors sort that out in the next 3 innings of the series.

Do not even talk about ODI and T20. Test cricket is a different game. May be, India should only play T20 and ODI.

IPL is immensely popular and flat pitches are required for entertainment that the spectators want.
just chill guys. this is last tour of most of the people so they want to enjoy as much as they can as after this tour they have to spend money from their pocket. sachin/laxman/dravid/zaheer/sehvag/dhoni - must be last tour for them
Following ppl must take the responsibility and resign/leave on moral grounds. If they don't resign they should be fired/dropped. - BCCI chief N Srinivasan - Kris Srikkanth and all the selectors - Coach Duncan Fletcher - Bowling coach Eric Simmons - Dhoni - Sehwag - VVS Laxman - Dravid - Ishant Sharma
We must blood younger players. They surely can't perform worse than this. They will definitely be better in fielding and running between the wickets.

Not a bad thought but I will spare Dravid and Flatcher from your list. Dravid has only failed in last test. He was the lone warrior for India during the ENgland Series and Another away series in WI. He is too good to be dropped on couple failure.
Flecther is only few months old. If the fam batting lineup struggle fail to bat then what can he do? He can't train likes of Sachin, VVS, Sewag, Dravid... they all are veteran and should have known how to play agains Aussie new comers..

I think veterans and legends should gracefully give way and mentor younger players before they become relics. Sachin, VVS etc; can have remedial training and they should be given specific tasks within the team. Sachin, VVS, Sewag, Dravid don't see themselves as Gods, so why should Fletcher treat them as such. Stop putting people on weak pedestals. Let them stand tall on the pedestal of unshakable performance. Like true Indians.

Sure.. Greg Chappell tried to do something similar and all knows what happened. All so called True Indians know.. So lets be pratciel and don't talk nonsense

Perfect we should start a sign in campaign collect millions of signatures and ask all these people to leave.
Sachin - (Let him do his record) Irafan Pujara - (To get exp of fast bowling for future) R. Sharma - (Deserve in team) Raina - Kohil Dhoni - (In one-day he is still good) Jadeja P.Kumar Aaron Mithun

We are obsessed with the individuals, it is the team that matters. Being able to play as a team, and not playing to break records is the key to winning a match. The main purpose of this tour seems to be Sachin's 100. A win can bring about records, but a record need not translate into a win. By the way even if we have Xena Warrior Princess on our side, and we cannot contain the opposing team, with the bat, ball & on the field, we will suffer shameful defeats.
Indian pace (?) bowling is like a blind man throwing stones at a tree to fell the fruits. (May be if we try some blind cricketers, we may get better results than this.) They cannot bowl at specific areas consistently which will cramp the batsmen for room. With the advent of T20 leagues, BCCI have totally stopped developing pace bowlers. After all this is BCCI team only.

When things go wrong its usual for everyone to call for players blood. But let me ask you all one question, if we send all the young blood to Aus, whether there will be any change in result. The main thing selectors need to do for the good of Indian cricket is come up with a definit plan for yongsters and give at least 2-3 players in each series and make them build stroger along with the existing seniors experts. Thus we can have 2-3 back up for each senior players and bring them slowly on board as seniors ready to move out.
Re: Erratic bowling
by Vailixi T on Jan 14, 2012 02:09 AM
Absolutely. In all the 3 matches, India was just going through the motion. Playing without any plan, without purpose or conviction. Losing a match with a fight is justifiable and often good for the game, however, losing hope and giving in without a fight is as bad as winning all the time. "A game is not over until its over" There is not evidence of proper planning and its execution. Sorry state of affairs.
