This board had 965 messages and after reading about 100 I realize that we have got the debate wrong.We should not be talking Test Cricket at all.Indians are neither physically,mentally or emotionally suited to the demands of Test Cricket.We want maximum return at minimum investment.The only answer is T20 or even mavbe T10.So BCCI..use your ill gotten money to get the ICC to ban Test cricket. Like you have greated the modern version of gilli-danda and convinced the fans that the people who can score a quick 50 are modern day Bradmans...do some more magic and get us to cheer the fastest 25 or quickest pace delivery bowled from a 6 step run-up.Cricket,the way some of us played over the last 40 years, is dead. Don't try to raise someone from the grave...

If feasible, suspend IPL for three seasons. Check the impact on the Indian team's fortunes. If not, restrict IPL to Indian players who are not contracted to the BCCI. Fundamentally, the BCCI does not care about the test team. It can bribe boards to win the limited overs tournaments to keep the cash coffers overflowing. We might be able to assess the impact IPL is having on the test team.
Indian Batsmen are yet to prove on fast tracks. they seems to not done any home work or practise for the quicks. Indian pitches also needs to b made for quick bowlers so tat they gain som experiance. But these kind of pitches are not made to safeguard the indian team from losing a home serious which is not a right attitude..Poor show :-(

indeed. there are no quick fixes in life. never are. you set up the system. give it time and then get the results in next 3-4 years. Thats how Aussie/SA and even English systems have evolved...
