Burdened by Sachin's 100th Ton
by Jijoy Joshua on Jan 09, 2012 10:48 AM  | Hide replies

Nothing is wrong, they are just overburdened by Sachin's 100th Ton. If he had scored that before coming on this tour, every team member would have concentrated on their own performance. Even the opposition is on ahigh when they get hin out before getting to that 100 and the Indian team follows Sachin back to the pavillion like beaten lambs

he real reason why indian cricket is going down, is Advertisement revenue and IPL revenue, The BCCI should introduce the clause that any money earned from advertisement and event management 99% of the earned money should be given back to BCCI, Since BCCI is responsible for the status earned by our cricketers, if this stops automatically our cricketer would put in effort, all peny earnd should be worked hard.

The oldies, Dravid, Tendulkar and Laxman have to go now. Put in youngsters. Even if we lose a series with younsters in the team, it does not matter. We have to build the team.Even with oldies, we are getting kicked around.

SRT, RD, VVS are all great. but the time has come to replace these guys.
SRT is fighting with his 100th Ton.
RD is figting with his technique and strike rate.
VVS fighting with his insecurity.
But nobody is fighting the opponents!!!!

WRONG
by ashwani sharma on Jan 09, 2012 10:02 AM  | Hide replies

Age is the factor, which is hurting Indian Team.wrong selection of players,Ashwin's Ishant" bowling is aimless, imagineless.ONly one thing I can say that IPL has taken the Interest of Players and now instead of playing for Pride of nation they are just doing there duty that too with all the nakhra"s and Ahsaan"s.Stop them doing ad"s and just pay according to their performance. When the feeling of sab kuch hai, kuch kare ya na kare occurs then performance declines. Our players has the same feeling.Give chance to Rahul sharma, a leg spinner with difference, Rohit sharma a complete batsman.

NOTHING'S WRONG WITH THE INDIAN CRICKET TEAM
by NEALES GRACIAS on Jan 09, 2012 09:45 AM

Nothing is wrong with the Indian cricket team. We must accept that you win some and you loose some. One can't win all the time as time and again there are other teams who play well on a certain day and deserve to win...try and understand that we are human and winning and losing is part of the game.

Diversity and Team sports
by Face Dude on Jan 09, 2012 09:44 AM

Part of the problem we have is due to the division we have in terms of language, culture and society between the different states... diversity is killing team sports.

Any team thats doing well in team sports have a common language which is not English - an acquired skill. Where emotions complement skill, its necessary for the team to be aligned both mentally and technically.

If each state claims their players to be supreme and shower unreasonable gifts and praises, quality and performance takes a serious hit. This is very apparent for any team sport like hockey or cricket or football. Take the case of leading teams in hockey, football or any other team sport and you will see why...

India made of 20 odd "countries" is not helping matters at all! My point is if you send a team from Maharastra or Hyderabad (after a proper state level selection) they stand a better chance of performing well in international settings than a mixed up indian team where every person considers himself a king and different than others due to his regional quirks and eccentricities...

Slow down
by Arun GR on Jan 09, 2012 09:39 AM

Indian team has to slow down in scoring when it comes to Test cricket. i feel too much of 20-20 matches and ODIs have affected their Test mind set. They seem to score in a hurry in Test matches also, chasing every ball bowled and eventually losing wickets quickly. The way India batted in second innings looked satisfactory. they were not in a hurry. In previous tours India were concerned about opening stands. but now people are talking only about Sachins 100th ton and unnecessarily pressurising him. I think our Test match veterans just have to take the batting slowly which would help them play long innings...

Revamp, Invest in Youth and Have Patience
by Dilip Venugopal on Jan 09, 2012 09:20 AM  | Hide replies

This is not an easy solution. Indian team is going through the same phase which the Aussie team went through couple of years back with their biggies retiring in quick succession. Look how well they have regrouped after a series of bad performances. England team is another case in point. We need to revamp the entire team with youth and look towards the future. Results will be definitely bad for the next couple of seasons but I am sure we will see a turn around. Revamp the domestic cricket with more fast and bouncy pitches.
