Interstingly there are no major comments on Ashwin's role as a batsman here. Considering the way he has stood upto the pace battery of Pakistan, England , Australia ...wonder if he should be considered as Laxman's replacement in tests as a pure batsman.

Shame ravi the umpire was not chosen man of the match since he played so well for the pakis!
The difference in team india's performances in tests and limited overs is the diff in performance of some players 1.Dhoni: Best finisher in ODI and T20 same is not applicable in tests 2.Yuvi: He can take on any bowler in LOIs and bowling is more than handy but not consistent in tests. 3.Kohli:Cemented place at no:3 in LOIs but batting down the order in test struggles him 4.Aswin:His variety in bowling gives him edge in LOIs but lack of turning abilities deny him of being successful at test level. 5.We always had good swing bowlers in ODIs but lack of pace always troubled them in tests 6.And finally India losing grip on spin bowling which was their main strength in the past. Even if lost to Pakistan i still believe that India is better in ODIs and expect a comeback in the next match.
He came when the overcast conditions improved & there is no movement in pitch. Once in 20 ODI score can't be taken as heroic or captains knock. Don't boost more than required & umpires can't be blamed. Rohit,Yuvi,Khli,Gambhir,Shewag & Dhoni are luggages to Indian team. There much bettter players than the above who should play for India.
I was shocked to see ashwin touching dhoni's feet on reaching his 100 , more so when pointed out commentator rameez , arun lal the other commentator replying that had he been in ashwin's he would have done the same .....

I was watching it closely too. Ashwin was pointing to the pitch where the ball is getting pitched. He never touched Dhoni's feet.

Mohinder in fact said Dhoni was an outstanding ODI Bat. He only commented on his Test role and Captaincy in Tests

agree with against pseudos. Dhoni batted for his records of scoring runs. during the post match session, he said he was happy at his batting instead of feeling sad that the team lost.

Face Dude: By Mohinder eating mud, India would be declared winners of Chennai ODI??

It's just that humiliation of big defeat was avoided by Dhoni's knock, nothing more than that. Don't exaggerate things, Indian's have lost another match. Dhoni remains a mediocre in test match cricket.
