Just like the way he loves it. He had 40 overs to play, and no worry of having a target to chase. Just protect your wicket and use the slog overs to gain some runs. Raina if not for playing an IPL shot would have scored more than Dhoni.

Misbah made that innigs, 3rd ball LBW not given, 16 runs Misbah put down easy catch..
dhoni completed 7000 odi runs in 188 innings while sahin did that in 196 innings...this despite the fact that sachin opened the innings most of the times and dhoni usually bats at much lower batting position...still he has MORE runs in LESS innings...

If he has the guts, let MSD open the innings against the new ball. Let's comment later. Sachin has played at all positions.

Go ask any great cricketer and he will say that the toughest job is to open the innings because of many factors - The ball is new and swinging, the bowlers are fresh and raring to go at you.

fast bouncy pitch , formidable fast bowling , wet ground , half the team back for 29. Yet Dhoni is singlehandedly able to take the card past 225. Just brilliant.

And by the way, only batsmen with good techniques are able to open. Only one or two exceptions like Sehwag are successful in opening without much technique.

poor old generation players did not play so much as dhoni on flat pitches, at home and against weak oppositions.

he was trying to maintain his average.. 16 runs misbha put down easy catch after facing 47 delevories..at last as usaul.. helicopter flew..I don't think best innigs..far behind tha yuvi's last t-20 innigs..
but if this performance of Dhoni is not commendable,then what is a good performance? Dhoni has been let down for a long time by Sehwag and Gambhir and,still the selectors are a silent spectator?

There are many innings where individuals have played single handedly, but the result was Loss.
dhoni has shown again that he can bat under intense pressure and on pitch favoring fast bowlers...
for those who think he can only bat on flat tracks and when good foundation has led he has shown that he can bat at 29 for 5 situation with pitch being wet with rain and assisting fast bowlers...

:-).., and Pak batsmen including Jamshed showed how to coolly reach thd target on a pitch favoriting fast bowlers. ;-) And Indian fast bowlers showed why they had also lost the Asia Cup match not defending 289..,:-)

it is matter of great surprise that why dhoni &raina played slow.and fielding is is not improving, who is coaching?????why dummy players are playing like rohit...why not try some new comer who scored highest run in ranji...same with bowling???sami ahmad should be tried inplace of ishant,,,, ajinkya inplace of rohit
