All cricketers play for money its true all of them including tendulkar dhoni every one why are they not going to west indies and they love club more than there country. Its a shame for our country atleast they should learn something from the srilankan whose chose country over their clubs. but as you all know "YAHAN TO SAB PAISE KE BHUKHE HAI"

Gambhir is injured so he may not be sent.
Why is Dhoni and Tendulkar not going to WI?
What about them making money in IPL and rejecting national cap?
Bloody double standards.

Dhoni and Tendulkar are demi gods in this country. Can they be questioned?

1000% agree with u, why don't one ask question to Dhoni and Sachin that if they really want to take a rest why don't they chose to take rest after 45 days of tough cricket in WC? Isn't that the best time to take a rest? but as you rightly say that they are demi gods and we can't questioned them. Mark my word they will even chose to play Champions league over International cricket.

Loss for Cricket and Country
by SHANE on May 26, 2011 07:24 PM

When Gayle,Pollard,Malinga chose this stupid nautanki over representing their country, we don't raise this controversy. Also, when Sachin,Dhoni,Zaheer chose to take a break from WI tour which does not make any sense, since if they want to take a break that should be ideally after the WC for may be 2 weeks and still can play tamasha cricket for last 2 weeks. We a people of India should not watch this tamasha IPL which in turn creates a loss for the franchisee and in results in all this drama cricket come to an end, but sadly we want to see this tamasha cricket. It is a loss- loss situation for both cricket and country since it creates friction among the people belongs to different regions.

Dont care!!
by Sudarsan on May 26, 2011 07:24 PM

All cricket is the same. Why this unnecessary patriotism for international cricket? Even an official war between two countries does not deserve the patriotic respect that it gets (war can be avoided and people can live in their own worlds). For me, cricket is a profession and players entertain the audience. Gambhir decides to give more importance to the bucks he gets from the IPL and its his decision to do so. With the kind of talent we have, we will easily find a guy to replace Gambhir in the national squad. Even if we didnt have the talent to replace Gambhir, we just go through the period where we find a replacement for him and then move on. Simply getting into the blame game is waste of time. According to me, I pride when India wins in international cricket, but I dont care if the players give priority to money over international sport.

Its the choice of the players.
Nobody criticizes Tennis players when they skip Davis cup for Grand Slams!!!
So why criticize cricketers for playing in IPL and skipping ODIs.
And don't talk rubbish about representing India as is cricket is a world sport when only a handful countries play it.
Nobody gives a damn who scores what in a cricket match.

well many here have criticized the players that they play for only money and not for their country. bcci had also said that players play for bcci and not for country. so where does the question of playing for club or playing for country arise?

the question is whether to play for club or to play for bcci.

further the bcci has also clarified that they dont force any player to play. they are free to opt out if they are tired or not fit enough to play. if gambhir is not fit enough to play then thats that, what is all this brouhaha about?

I Remember the BCCI said in court that they are a private body & nothing to do with India.
