boss dont corelate wrongly. watch sydney test in 2008 for reference. in this WC 2011, watch match against pak when he was out but shamelessly did not walked through inspite of knowing that there is big edge. see match against india in which he claimed for catch despite of knowing that ball first touched the ground. Aussis had huge success in his captaincy but u cant not deny the fact that ricky shown his cheating capability on several occasion. its good for cricket that he is out from captaincy now.

He is not a good sportsman as well like other aussie players. They will do cheating, sledging and anything to win matches and when Indian players do the same thing, that is against the spirit of the game. Remember the monkey gate incident...Also,He has got a gr8 team which included players like Gilchrist, Hayden, Mcgrath, Warne etc. So, that time, if he make any stupid decision, then also the team wins. So, he is not a gr8 captain.

Ha ha ha...Dont compare this cheater with other players. I dont think he is a gr8 batsman. He didnot have to face the greatest bowlers like Mcgrath, Shane Warne, Bret lee etc as they were all played in his team. If he had to face these bowlers, he would not have been these much successful. But, the other players like Sachi, Lara, Dravid, Ganguly, Kallis, Laxman etc played against australia and that shows their calibre.

It is unfortunate for such a great cricketer. Ponting did not loose either Ashes or World Cup due to poor captaincy but because of poor team that was given to him. The bench strength was also not good enough. Actually Cricket Australia failed to produce any suitable replacement for McGrath, Warne, Heyden, Martyn, Gilchrist, Symonds, Bevan and Gillespie. It is to be understood that they did not become 3 time world champions without good players. Producing player is not the job of Ponting but of Cricket Administration. Unfortunately Ponting is being made a scape goat. The problems that are being faced by West Indies after 1987 is now haunting Australia. Improve the system first.

This concludes the battle that any day our Sachin is far better player than ponting for the kind of pressure what he carries and the team he was with through out his 3/4th of his carrer.

team lost bcoz ricky could not get good team them how is he good captain? he is ordinary. good captains would be those who utilizes ordinary players to full extent and took maximum out of it. BTW if team has watson, ponting, clarke, lee, johnson etc cant be bad team at all.

Ponting would never relinquish the captaincy of his own accord, so enamoured is he of his leadership abilities, not to mention the income, so he has obviously been pushed by CA and/or the selectors (who are usually spineless). Get the bulls.hit meter out for his press conference - one of the comment on a prominent Aussie website
