Dhoni is a reasonably good captain and a poor performer. So let him be the 12th man or he can be a non playing captain.

Dhoni has been overated by the Media and therefore by us Indians. He makes Rs 250-300 crores by endorsements when a Jawan killed in Kashmir gets about Rs 5 lakhs. All these highly paid cricketers should be paid according to their performance. They will then have more motivation to perform.Too much money has spoiled them.

We have more important issues than losing matches.
by Cool Mahesh on Jul 26, 2011 11:22 AM  | Hide replies

We should be more interested in:
1) Sachin's hundredth ton.
2) Bhajji's hundredth test.
3) Whether Sachin will get Bharat Ratna ?
4) How many of our flat track bullies are there in fabricated ICC All Time Test XI and ODI XI ?
5) How many haircuts and bike rides does our Captain Cool take ?
6) In endorsement conracts, who is leading - Sachin or Dhoni ? This is irrespective of their performance on the field.
7) Which Don or ex great cricketer is praising the Little Master or which President is praising Dhoni's haircut ?
8) Which actress or model is dating which cricketer ?
9) How many ramp shows our media hyped cricketers are doing ?
10) How much money have our cricketers been auctioned in IPL ?
11) How many non-sensical tours with minnows can be squeezed between important tours so that our BCCI and players can mint money ?
These above are more important to us.
India will anyway win or lose depending on how good the opposition is.
"So sit back and enjoy the Team India and BCCI experience".

Cool Mahesh, lets wait for a few days. Rediff will come up with more issues like:
14) Poonam Pandey promising something new to the indian team,
15)Most of all, who kissed whom in IPL parties.

Dhoni makes about Rs 250 crores in endorsements while a poor Jawan killed in military action in Kashmir gets Rs 5 lakhs. The fate of our sportsmen in other sports is pethetic and they don't have even train fare. The BCCI is a bunch of jokers. Our cricketers should be paid according to their performance.Only then the guys will have some motivation.Too many of these fellows are riding on their reputation.Just give them as much as the other countries do.

Limited resorces

This is the most fragile No1 team in the history of world cricket. The loss by big margin at Lords is not a surprise looking at the preparedness of our team. Our team think tank( ? )made so many mistakes.Though English team tried to lose this match by getting into losing situations, our team was generous enough to let them out of hook everytime.
Was it not known earlier that we were playing with only four so called ballers?Zahir has a dubious record of injuries when India needs his services.Harbhajan, himself may not remember his good performance in the balling dept.
Let us not forget that it was India who won the Toss and on swinging and bouncy pitch England managed to pile 450 runs. The match was lost by the end of first day itself.Indians may show a fight back in the series but they do not deserve NO.1 ranking.Indian team has shown its mental weakness in West indies also and same is continuing in England.English team was never a good team, they have never achieved anything great except beating Australia inbetween. We are getting defeated by such a team is not a good sign for world cricket.

Why Ojha is not included
by Politician Hater on Jul 26, 2011 11:17 AM  | Hide replies

Ojha would have been a better option in India team, he spins the ball far better than current two spinners. probable there is no backing for him.

Ojha is yet to prove himself in big games.
Why not include Ashwin or Mishra???
These two have proved themselves in the highest level???
Anyways spinners have little value on pitches outside the subcontinent...
So it would be best to go with 4 seamers.

4 seamers? Indian bowlers need to bowl 90 overs in a day, not 60.

DHONI-The Hell opens Please go and enjoy!!!!!!!!

Dhoni has never saved a test match for India if dhoni is not able to stand on pitch for 1 day and for 2-3 sessions then what the hell he deserve to be the caption of WORLD cup winners team thanks to laxman and dravid to stand and save day 4,if both had not played in day 4 india might lose the match on day 4

Dhoni was always getting the undue credit of the performance of others. He is a below average performer but fortunately or unfortunately, under him the team performed reasonably well.

@Rozario: There is a proverb "Khuda meherban to Gadha Pehelwan". No prizes for guessing, Dhoni comes into the Gadha category.

INDIA LOSE

wHEN INDIA DOES WELL, WE TALK ABOUT INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE OF PLAYERS LIKE SACHIN, WHEN WE LOSE THE GAME, WE TRY TO HIGHLIGHT SOME INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE LIKE A OR B HAS DONE GREAT, MEDIA ALWAYS TRY TO DIVERT THE ATTENTION.

@John: Yes, because there are supposedly 5-6 batsmen and atleast 4-5 bowlers. If 80% do not perform, India is bound to lose the match. Each person (except Raina, Praveen, Dravid & Ishant, BECAUSE THEY PERFORMED) are to be held responsible for yesterday's loss.

A poor performance
by kumar kn on Jul 26, 2011 11:11 AM  | Hide replies

Our cricketers are famous for giving excuses.
Steve Waugh as Australian captain had said
"We Australians never give up and fight to the finish.Even if we lose,we better have blood on our face"

We Indians have a negative attitude and give up easily even before a fight.
Our players are the most highly paid in the world and they do not feel responsible for anything. Many have taken their place for granted.

Our players must be paid if they do well but their payments must be cut if they put up a poor performance as they did in this match.
