2000 TEST ,100 MATCH AGAINST ENGLAND ,100 MATCH AT LORDS , The number one ranking at stake see the schedule of preparation even a born idiot will not organize such a way . Different country in terms of pitch, weather and behavior of pitches - a three day match and then test .Why make the lovers of the game suffer have more IPLs in the year may be 12 . How many of the CrikcKters play in Ranji and Duleep Trophy -see the English team if not test the will be in County Cricket . We have do not have cricketers but Cricket politicians. osing is not bad but the preparation and the way it is lost is terrible.

Bowlers who make a champion team...!
by swapnil ghate on Jul 26, 2011 04:13 PM

West Indies under Lloyd/Richards : Known for its Pace Battery Marshall, Holding, Garner, Roberts, Walsh, Ambrose and sole reason they were a champion side for a long time.

Australia under Taylor/Waugh/Ponting : Mc'grath, Gillespie, Warne, Brett Lee these were the architects of being a champion time for a long time.

If India ever wanted to become a champion for a long time then it should have definitely played with one more bowler since it would have been an intent to win rather than to perform well.

It is bowlers who win matches and not batsmen.

Tendulkar kept his record
by sai krishna on Jul 26, 2011 01:41 PM  | Hide replies

Tendulkar kept his record of not performing when team needs him. This he has done consistently. Even in Big Final of the World Cup Tendulkar fell cheaply. He may be worlds best Batsman but he can never be called a crisis man. Steve Waugh, Laxman,Lara, and in the early eighties Madan Lal & Roger Binny they stood there when it was matterred.
There is a talk of Bharat Ratna to Tendulkar, I think except his personal records he did nothing for the cause of the team.
I think Leander Paes deserves Bharat Ratna because in the Davis Cup matches he beats players even from the Top Ten also when the prestige of the country at the stake. If anybody remembers in the Semi-Final Davis Cup match against France in France in French Clay Paes ranked 145 defeated then World No.5 Henri Leconte in the first Singles and Paes in straight sets. And here Tendulkar may be better sportsman than Leander Paes, crumbles when Country in need of his services.
If indeed Sports man awarded with Bharat Ratna, Leander Paes name should come first.
I am sorry if heart the sentiments of anybody.

Dont forget it took the 'God' Sachin 22 years to win a world cup. Any how all cricketers play for BCCI and not India. They can be Team India or Men in Blue but can never be "Indian National cricket Team". Better give the BR to someone who plays for the country like Dhyan chand, Milkha Singh or Leander Paes not to some one who plays for a commercial organization called BCCI.

I agree with Dhyan Chand and Milkha Singh. But not leander paes. I do not think he has done anything to make the country proud of.
All the grand slam victories in doubles is his personal achievement and not for the country.

Leander Paes never won an individual tournament. You can see from his World rankings. But i said that for the cause of the country in 1996 Atlanta Olympics Leander won Bronze Medal which was the only medal India won on that Olympics. I am Saying when he plays for the Country he will defy any even top ranked players. Davis Cup won by teams whoose top five players rank belone twenty. Tendulkar may have bunches of talent more than Leander Paes the Passion shown by Paes by giving his best shot for the Country not is not simply there in case of Tendulkar. No doubt he is greatest Cricters but not at the time of Crisis.Leander and Mahesh Bhupathi are the only two in our 120 crores population to win a Grand Slams.

For a Cricket Frenzy country like India. Where in schools,in parks, In sea Beaches and in Villages children prefer to play only Cricket. Reaching Semi-Final is also a greatest Achievement. particularly when none of our players have even reached Finals of a Grand Slam tournament. Becuase Tennis requires a posh Tennis Court and a Costly Bat.And Tennis courts are not available everywhere except in big cities. So before commenting please tell me how many Tennis courts you have in your city. and for your information in Americal and in Rest of the Europe every Street had one Tennis Court.

Leander Paes in doubles quite a few handful grand slams.

He has to compete with players from hundreds of countries as against only 6 quality countries in cricket.

However, whether he qualifies for Bharat Ratna is not sure but definitely he was a great player probably greatest in Tennis for India.

Sure Bharat Ratna for a sportsman. But the only deserving one is the late Dhyan Chand, the hockey wizward. His services to the country was the best. He deserves the coveted award, not Sachin, leander etc. Glorifying Sachin Tendular has become the bane with most of the cricket writers and the politicians. He may be best so far his batting is concerned, but his performances rarely brought India any worthwhile victory. Media, both print and electronic find nothing beyond Sachin. All they talk about his getting 100th century. They are least interested whether India wins or not. If that's the case let BCCI arrange a Test series with Bangladesh to help Sachin get his 100th century.

Dhoni talks about Yuvi and Viru who are not there, he could have used Tendulkar and Raina if needed for short spells. I have not seen him use Sachin and I think Sachin could have been a difference because he can spin the ball both ways (leg and off).
