The WI team was so bad that it was told a grand ma could lead india to win . There was no fight back at all from india . team needs to be hauled up and Dhoni given a warning
totally unacceptable

Pathetic

Display by Harbhajan was again pathetic. He could not use the 5th day track to remove the tailenders is a reflection of his inconsistency. We could have used Mishra as the first spinner or could have used a fourth pace bowler.

Even while batting, they had negotiated the first half of a tricky runchase and upto the drinks break of final session very well by keeping wickets in hand and keeping required run rate around 4. It was worth taking the risk at that time. When Raina failed, he could have sent Harbhajan or Kohli or himself ahead of Laxman and tried to throw all their T20 ability to try and win. Afterall they have Dravid at one end and Laxman to follow who could have batted calmly in case the T20 folks failed. Fear of losing 8 wickets in 20 overs in a match against one of the weakest attacks can not be the standard set by World No.1 Team. Agreed, defensive field and negative bowling made run chase difficult, but their bowling still lacked fire power. Many teams have shown more courage to chase in 4th innings.

India just let WI go..there is NO conceivable reason for not going for a win, or at least trying to win with 7 wickets in hand!!! this is not a cricket match but a comedy...Dravid ilk destroyed test cricket!

I agree Deepak, Dravid will kill the test matches with his approach. He never plays for win and always look to draw the test.

LBws not given out while the udRS REPLAYS were SHOWN shamelessly on tv that showed that balls were going above the wickets or sideways.

certainly the angrez bought WI into UDRS support by showing how UDRS rigging or wrong calibration can be used to their advantage because indians could not be pressured into udrs support in earlier matches after being wrongly been given out. harper had to get out in that game.
then, wi player were patting munaf in order to please the umpire assad to gain more umpire support on religion lines. all this politics.
india shamelessly did not play pragyan or rohit. what a shame.

India win series 1-0 as third Test ends in a draw
by kalyan krishnan on Jul 11, 2011 08:08 AM  | Hide replies

It was pathetic to see the way Rahul Dravid was batting. Even after 100 plus tests, if he struggles against a mediocre bowling attack, then it is high time he retires. We lost a golden opportunity to go 2 up in the series, thanks to Dravid.

Dravid scored 2nd highest runs in series. Why didn't Dhoni come ahead of Dravid or even Raina? India would have LOST the series had it not been for Dravid'c century. It is futile arguing with the likes of you

I request the selectors to drop Dravid from the team for England or advice him to opt out on some pretext and save the Indian cricket. So upset with his performance yesterday against WI.

He also dropped 2 catches of Chandrapaul. Why should he be standing in the slip in the first place with his reflexes being so poor. Youngsters like Vijay, Raina or Kohli should have been in the slip and this chap should have been somewhere in the third man.

Dhoni dropped catch of Baugh in last match which allowed WI to escape. And Dravid has taken 202 catches....he doesn't need to prove himself whatsoever

high time to stop praising this guys history! you may unfold some pages which will ruin this guys career like he was asked to keep wickets when he was out of form and supposedly thrown out of the team, to save his one day career.. you are a DUD

Do not blame Dravid for the batting failure. Apart from Dravid and Laxman, there are 9 others who have experience in T20 and ODI who could have shown their attacking batting skills and taken the team to victory. Let one end be held strong by the seniors who have shown their skills when it was tested.

this is poor show by no 1 team
by bhupen parikh on Jul 11, 2011 07:56 AM

this is not acceptable from world no 1 team ,they always defending and try to avoid any risk ,though 180 odd runs to chase in 47 overs is not big risk for team like india and when we have lot of out right players who always shine in media like kohli raina and dhony they should have easliy gone for it ,i think dhoni is not good captain to me. after good form india should haveplayed like a champion not like a cowrd ..!!. i am upset with the performance.

Poor Show
by mr.makya@rediffmail.com on Jul 11, 2011 07:50 AM  | Hide replies

So the ODI champions can't even score 180 runs from 47 overs. Required Runrate was less than 4 and we have seen flattrack bullies scoring over 4 RR on home wickets. Pitch was not bad enough on the 5th day, still Indians didnot play aggressive cricket required for the situation.

Now one must accept the fact the No.1 ranked Test Team CANNOT win more than ONE test away in a bilateral series. Indian bowlers are not talanted enough to wrap up opposition in time. 1-0 series win against minnows like West Indies shows limitations of No.1 ranked test team.

one can not score against negative bowiling unlike the ODI.In ODI the balls outside the legstump would have been declared wide with a run and addtional ballto bowl

What negative bowling excuse you are talking about?
Negative was Indian batsmen's attitude & strategy to chase such small target.

What was Dhoni doing in the dressing room? Why didn't he come at one down and show his so called T-20 skills. Why were Indian bowlers bowling negative wide outside off line to Chanderpaul. Why was Munaf picked ahead of Mishra in a turner

shabby bowling of India
by suryanarayanan ramesh on Jul 11, 2011 06:58 AM  | Hide replies

India bowled very shabbly during the 3rd test, when West Indies were playing their 2nd innings. Ishant N Praven N Unaf were bowling wide balls N much outside the Half stick without bowling straight balls with Length Y inswingers N cutters N Yorkers and that has made West Indies in a stronger position during their 3rd test.

If India tried their best especially by the bowlers. India would ave won the 3rd test comfortably when V have an good lead.

V missed an Opportunity 2 win the 3rd test.

I condemn the bowlers in the 3rd test.
Overall Indias bowling was very good in the series.

Where is the killer instict ? If India wants to keep the world no.1 position, and has the abundant talent to do so, they need to chase down totals like the Aussies.

killer instinct? Man, this team, only wants to win one test in entire series. If another win comes by default, they are ok. Otherwise, the first thing they want is draw. Felt sooo gutted today
