Tendulkar only plays for records and will continue to play until he has fear of his records to be broken specially in tests

tendulkar does not play for record.cricket is a team game.if rest of 10 players cant do anything why should we blame to one?

3RD CRICKET TEST OR THE 3RD BOER WAR FOR THE S/AFRICANS?
by damodaran mohan on Jan 05, 2011 01:52 PM

Interest in Test cricket waning ? Think again. At capetown it is not just the cricketers but even the spectators seem to have joined instead of merely watching the game idly.It was poor Sreesanth who was getting the stick from them even while G/smith was at the recng. end from Zaheer at the crease.Over the last four days it had become more than just cricket, a virtual war--perhaps nothing less than the third Boer War for the South africans, the way D/Steyn and Sachin Tendulkar were slugging it out in the middle. It has been certainly the ultimate in TEST cricket seen for long time to come. Both the teams, especially the Indian side deserves all praise for the way they have repeatedly made comeback from a difficult position in such difficult conditions. Now the fight is in its last leg and is now up to the Indians to go all out and conquer the south africans. Better bundle them out for under 150-170 or else India may find once again fighting back to the wall on the fifth day.

Sachin's Supremacy...
by Rajkumar KVM on Jan 05, 2011 11:51 AM  | Hide replies

Of Steyn's 66 deliveries over two superb spells, Tendulkar played 48. Of the remaining 18, the pacer managed to dismiss Cheteshwar Pujara and MS Dhoni.
This speaks of Sachin's supremacy...

Thats why First Innings is so important in any Test
by joydip bhattacharya on Jan 05, 2011 11:51 AM  | Hide replies

In one of earlier discussion regarding Laxman class in 2nd innings batting , I mentioned most of the Test matches are win/Loss by 1st Innings batting, If you consider this test if Laxman scored a 60-70 in 1st innings India would have got a lead of 150 and match was almost over and you don't need to show heroics in 2nd Innings in pressure situation. So my point was failure of 1st innings nly create teh pressure and Sachin scoring rubns in 1st innings only keep India into the game , otherwise once you conceed a lead of 150 in first innings u almost lost the game..and rarely a 2nd innings performance saves u.

Its almost in most of the test Matches, don't need to go further Just consider the ongoing Ashes Test.. The Century what Ian Bell Scored in 2nd innings actually seized the Game for England..but for many of us it will not be well appreciated as they will say it was not a Pressure situation....

Tendya - two weaknesses
by ccfan227@rediffmail.com on Jan 05, 2011 09:10 AM  | Hide replies

Its clear now that Tendya cannot play two kinds of deliveries.
1.Fast paced outswingers(both late, early) pitched from the center of good length area(pitch map of full, good, etc). Example:Steyn bowling yesterday.
Most of his caught behind, slip catches are because of this
2.Fast paced pitched inswingers(both late, early)from the center of good length area(pitch map of full, good, etc). Most of his LBWs,clean bowled are because of this. Example: Morkel bowling yesterday

If he masters new skills to tackle these, he will win/save more matches for India

He has survived ONLY 22 years of international cricket and score ONLY 51 test hundreds.

I understand from your words that he needs to 'work' on his batting.

street dogz are praying for india loss so that they can blame sachin ... it is becoming too much for them that sachin scored a century as usual against world best bowler at present...
if india wins and chances are good then some of these sick street stray dogz will probably end their miserable life out of frustration...

Sachin sees through it all...
by joseredd on Jan 05, 2011 09:02 AM

It was utter chaos after fall of dhoni's wicket.. there was appeals turn down, beaten with swing and stein was breathing fire. it looked india will collapse 100 runs short.
a lesser mortal would have done something silly like counter attack and perished..
but not tendulkar.
after watching him for 20 years..my admiration grew one more time yesterday...
