Rediff needs new writers. There was no love lost between the two though, it says. Do you even know the meaning of no love lost? It means the exact opposite of what has been mentioned in the article.
No love lost means when a person has a feeling enmity and makes no effort to conceal it. It doesnt mean the love remained between the two.

it also could mean that rediff knows what nobody does that there is an acient grudge they share. but Haris ur r right this journo shud consider writing in hINDI

actually i disagree, "no love lost" could be used in either terms, in extreme hate and extreme love. It simply means if amount of love is x, after an incident it remains x. If you hated someone before, well x remains the same. Though in todays world I agree it has more of a negative inference to it.

There is a difference beween literal meaning and an expression. This is an expression, ans should not be used as a literal meaning

It was definitely a good call by Sachin. He has almost reached the non-striker's end, but Viru was looking at the fielder rather than responding to Sachin's call. In Cricket, when the ball is driven onside it should be the call of the striker rather than the non-striker's. Simply because the striker would be in a better position to judge the run, the non-striker's duty is to merely respond to it. In Cricket, it is essential to trust your partner's judgement all the time. This is the basics of cricket, unfortunately forgotten by sehwag at that instant. This has robbed us from witnessing a Sachin Special in this match. However, this mistake of Sehwag was not magnified in the press thanks to his stroke filled 175, which contributed to India's victory.

it was definitely a bad call by sachin. if sehwag would have responded trusting sachin blindly he would have got out. viru was seeing the ball and the fielder to decide whether the run was safe. but sachin acted foolishly, he saw that sehwag was not looking at him and still iike an idiot sachin continued running instead of retreating back to the crease.

You are correct for once, yes my comment was indeed excellent...:)
Surely you would not like sehwag to accept blindly sachin's call. By now he has partnered sachin very often and knows enough about his calling and has a healthy (dis)respect for sachin's wrong calling...:)

Unfortunately, you missed the point. Sachin, the striker, has almost reached the non-striker's end when Sehwag backtracked. If you have looked keenly, you would have noticed it. When the ball is hit towards third man (behind the striker), then the calling should be done by the non-striker. When the ball is driven straight (towards long-on, long off etc), then the calling should be done by the striker. This is purely because the striker would be in a better position to watch the ball and vital seconds will not be lost. Sehwag could have made it to the other side if he had responded to Sachin's call. Just because he kept looking at the fielder, he lost vital seconds in the process and this resulted in sachin's run out. May be the moment might have just got to Sehwag. This is why he apologized to Sachin after the match. Our likes and dislikes of a particular player hardly changes the FACTS.

IMO if sachin survived and sehwag got r.out, sachin may have made about 100 runs at S.R between 80-110. There would be then a good possibility Of india making about 300 runs, without pressure on the opponent, there was a good chance they would have chased it.

Dont forget we are a third world country for a reason - WE have a third world mentality!
WE go gaga over our supposed greatness in 'Kirkit' and 'bollywood phillums'. That alone is enough to make 1 billion underachievers happy.
The last time we won the One day world cup was 30 years ago. The last time an Indian movie won an oscar for best 'Foreign Film' was NEVER.
Yet we are superior and we are right next to US and China as superpowers in our minds.
never mind that we have the largest chunk of poor people in the world. 400 million people in India live in worse levels of poverty backwardness and illiteracy and that number and poverty levels exceed that lived by all the people in 25 poorest nations of Africa - as per the latest UNDP report on Huan Develeopment for 2010.
yet we are 'Superpower' India.
I was surprised to look at the medal tally of the National games and see that states like Manipur and Kerala are among the top states even above states like Haryana and Punjab.
whatever happened to balle balle chappatis and makkai ki roti? Does not translate to actual performance in the stadium?
