Re: How many people out of 1.2 billion

Dont forget we are a third world country for a reason - WE have a third world mentality!
WE go gaga over our supposed greatness in 'Kirkit' and 'bollywood phillums'. That alone is enough to make 1 billion underachievers happy.
The last time we won the One day world cup was 30 years ago. The last time an Indian movie won an oscar for best 'Foreign Film' was NEVER.
Yet we are superior and we are right next to US and China as superpowers in our minds.
never mind that we have the largest chunk of poor people in the world. 400 million people in India live in worse levels of poverty backwardness and illiteracy and that number and poverty levels exceed that lived by all the people in 25 poorest nations of Africa - as per the latest UNDP report on Huan Develeopment for 2010.
yet we are 'Superpower' India.
I was surprised to look at the medal tally of the National games and see that states like Manipur and Kerala are among the top states even above states like Haryana and Punjab.
whatever happened to balle balle chappatis and makkai ki roti? Does not translate to actual performance in the stadium?

Are you saying you have never made a mistake Mr. Ahmed? If there is a typing mistake, insignificant as this one, does it call for removal of the typist and/or the editor? Why don't you now crawl into the hole you came from? This world can not handle people such as you who are so perfect and have never done typing mistakes.
kohli and gambhir have learnt from chats/play with sehwag. whereas, tendulkar has not been able to transfer his wisdom to Rohit/etc. that is the difference.
Where is Rohit now and where is kohli/gambhir ?
During the T20 in South-African and then later during Auz tour where india gained upper hand to crush Auz ( where there was symonds tiff with harbhajan ). The reverse of today was true, Rohit was the leader and Gambhir was struggling and did not know when to be on front foot. And Kohli was nowhere. he was still watching Sehwag mistakes and success to learn.
Difference is sehwag, what he imparted. Something what Rohit/etc did not get from tendulkar. i meant sehwag imparted, tendulkar could not.

You obviously dont consider the possibility that Kohli and Gambhir are inherently more talented than Rohit?
Do you really think imparnting cricketing skill is like pouring your own talent into the heads of your team mates like pouring petrol into a vehicle?

VIRAT has been in astonishing form such that he has been a surety in the xi. as far as gambhir is concerned, its way ahead of others not to talk of useless rohit who has been given numerous chances.

small mistake can initiate non-availability of World Cup.
Bikash, if you don't know what a phrase means, leave it alone. "There was no love lost between the teammates though" means they had a friction. When in fact you meant to say that Sehwag and Sachin had NO friction. This is what happens when tapori guys end up becoming journalists.

mohapatra is stupid....i read that sentence and was wondering...then i read the next line and understood that mohapatra must hv failed in english in school....or maybe an IIPM pass out?

Sehwag's running between the wickets has been weak. Is this due to lack of match practice? The last 2 ODI series he did not play. Maybe in the next games he can improve his running and take us to more victories!
Re: EVEN SACHIN LOVER GAVASKAR..SAID..THERE WAS NO RUN FOR THAT B
by setu_madhavan@rediffmail.com on Feb 21, 2011 12:30 AM
Then maybe Sachin should carry a cellphone with him and ring up SachiLover Gavaskar every time he strikes to ball to confirm if there is a run or not, and then start running!
