Whenever the statistics of world cup are being talked about, they are referred to from the Prudential World Cups from 1975 only.

GOD OF RECORDS....KING OF LOSSES
by to_rajappan@rediffmail.com on Feb 15, 2011 04:39 PM  | Hide replies

Indian media is saying that Sachin is a god of cricket. But he is unable to score against good teams in the world cup or any other important matches. Infact he was crying foul in an interview saying that Indian team's batting order was not right in the last two world cups(His batting position was number 4 at some of the matches in WC 1999,2003 and 2007). He is only concentrating on his batting rather than the sake of country. He is more interested in creating recods than winning a match for India. Remember he was Mc Grath's bunny in two world cups (2003 and 1999 and got out in the first over itself). He is the most SELFISH BATSMAN in the history of Indian cricket after Sunil Gvaskar

If you know about statistics even a little bit, then how can you say "he is unable to score against good teams ". Among all his runs, most of the runs were scored against top teams only. May be you're too Lazy reading statistics.
All you want to do is to Bark anti-Sachin statements which does not even make sense. Instead doing this, tell me a player you Like and contributed even near to Sachin, and then I will type down same Para graph for him as you did about Sachin.
You just are full of hatred, lose brain and Nuts.

So you are saying that the 2000 odd runs SRT has in WC are not against quality oppositions. And what exactly should he concentrate on other than his own batting?

When you know that most of the runs he has scored against c grade teams and most of the times on his great innings we have lost.
What do u have to say on this...

54 against pakistan in 1992
70 against west indies, 90 against australia, 137 against sri lanka, 63 against srilanka in 1996
50 against england, 98 against pakistan and 97 against srilanka in 2003. this is what i remember and there are many more great knocks from the bat of master in world cups against good bowling attack after all he is the maximum run getter in world cups.

i agree that we lost against srilanka and australia but does it mean that one should completely ignore these knocks? I can take it in other way that he was the only performer in a team of 11 players and this shows how great he is.

Kapils 175?

Surprised to have not found Kapil's 175? Media strike cannot be an excuse to acknowledge such great innings. He has rescued a big humiliation from Zimbawe came on to bat at 17/5 and completed an amazing innings.

by vivek sharma on Feb 15, 2011 03:04 PM  | Hide replies

Rediff has not covered Ponting's innings against India in 2003 final. That was the innings which resulted in humiliating defeat for India. All the Indian players had their pants down and were being screwed for almost 6 hours. That was the best ever innings by any player ever.
