These are definitely not the top ten BEST innings by the batsmen in WC history. Highest score is not a true indicator of great innings. Nobody can deny that the listed innings are very entertaining but they don't qualify to be the best of the lot.
I think the list missed many great knocks. Not considering the great knock by Kapil Dev against Zim. 1. 102 Clive Loyed vs Aust 1975 Final 2. 138 Viv Richards vs England 1979 Final 3. 107 Arvinda De Silva vs Aus 1995 Final 4. 150 Ricky Ponting vs India 2003 Final
Rediff dont have any sense; How can they miss out Kapils 175 knock,an important match in a path to Indis victory in world cup when the team was 5 wkt down at 17 run; Kapil's 175 not out to reach India to 266 a repectable total.

In the first page they have said against test playing nation only and Zim at that time did not get test status. But still that was a great innings.
I m just too shocked not to see the greatest knock by any batsman in the history of World Cup not being included in this list. Chasing 273 in the match Sachin had finished all Pakistani hopes by 20th over itself. where he smashed the likes of Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar and Abdul Razzaq bleed and cry literally. I am not sure whether other innings deserve to be in the list or not. But this one certainly deserves a place right up there.
And as far as cynics are concerned. Really your constant Sachin bashing is not helping any cause. The mans greatness is beyond your selfish hypocritical mottos! Get a life guys...

I agree, that should be included, they also missed the great innings played by Steve Waugh in the group league match against South Africa in 1999 World Cup.

I think that is included of 1999 world cup check the list again! I think one more innings I would like to place will be of Ajay Jadeja in 1996 World cup against Pak again!

sachin is known for his innings in WC against pakistan. when it comes to WC, sachin is the kind in all the WC where he played against pakistan. thats y he is so popular.
I am follwing cricket from 1987 WC. One inning can destroy any tems's hopes like Kapil's inning in 1983 wc against Zim. 1987 WC like Graham Gouch inng. destroy the iniand hopes. in 1992 Inzamam ul haq inning destroy the NZ hopes. 1996 wc Santh and desilva destroy indian hopes.
My best innings are Kapil dev --- 175 against zim Graham Gooch—115 against India in 1987 wc Md. Azharudddin. -- 93 against Aus. In Sydney in 1992 wc Inzamm-ul Haq – 60 againt NZ in semis in 1992 WC Steve Baugh --- 110 agint SA in 1999 wc Viv Richard –139 in 1979 final against Aus Arvindo de sila—105 against Aussis in 1996 final Ricky Ponting – 140 aginst India in 2003 WC Clive lload--- 102 in final of 1975 wc Rahul Dravis---140 against SL in 1999 WC
If u see these innings footage u will see how the games are changed in World cups Excluding Kapil; s Inning which was unfortunately not recorded
