he knew the pitches behavior and tendulkar thought by batting down he would give the impression to the oppn that he is scared infact had he been smart he couldve come in at a time when the ball was swinging less but so much for the demigod status it has clouded his thinking at times though there is no good player of his calibre except for shewag which id rate higher anyday cause of his lack of regard for personal milestones and is truly a team man and the other player i like is bevan whose never say die spirit was always evident in his numerous matches
I see many of the Indians here in this forum are so blinded by our Indian mentality of running down successful ppl that they are blindly supporting even Chappell to talk rubbish about Sachin.
First of all, Chappell is all wrong when he says that he wanted Sehwag to open, as it was Uthappa who opened in the WC matches with Ganguly (except for one match).
Many of them have gone ahead and supported Chappell's opening theory of Sehwag and Ganguly, by justifyint that it is left-right combo, conveniently forgetting that Sachin is also a right handed batsman.
Also take into consideration that Sachin-Ganguly is the most successful opening pair in ODI history, and it makes no sense to change them for a major tournament like the WC (and that too to make Uthappa open in his place!)
Many have asked questions as to why Sachin could not have played at No. 4, my question is why shud he do so when he was doing excellently for India in the opening slot. Further my question is if Chappell didnt deem it right to force Sehwag (who is far more junior to Sachin), then how did he feel it correct that Sachin shud be forced ?
Ganguly who was a very successful captain was replaced by Dravid, who was not known to fit the ODI format very well, the juniors were juggled so much that none were sure of their place in the team and the settled seniors positions were shuffled around making Team India a very unsettled outfit that too just before the WC. So how does his theory become a sane one ?

its true to say that if gangully would be retained as captain for odi then certainily india would not have lost to bangladesh and india would have finished in better position it was criket australia planned for india cicket by dravid as captain and tandulkar at no4 is not correct.

your sachin will definately complete his 100 centuries in WC, rather than winning WC
It is so typical of an Aussie, right? Just before an important event, bring up a controversial topic, so that the best players in the opposition are under some sort of psychological pressure. Wow, Gregy. You live upto the promise.

Your ponting will be replaced by Watson in the middle of the WC, due to bad form... Not it!
