Chappell may not have had a glorious ending with the Indian team...after the world cup disaster, the selectors looking for a scapegoat had to show him the door unceremoniously to appease the collective anger of a nation of idol-worshippers that fanatically hold on to their demigods....But I have no doubt that if he had his way with things and if the political mindset of some of the senior Indian players not ruined what he had planned, it would probably have been the best and most successful Indian team EVER...I still remember India under Chappell and DRavid winning matches on the trot, consecutively whitewashing opponents, something which you do not generally see with india which becomes complacent after winning 2 or 3 matches...Chappell gave more importance to fitness and team success rather than individual brilliance...so a non-performer had no place in such a team just because he is a senior...so the called seniors ganged up against him and ruined his grand plans...IT IS NOT CHAPPELL BUT THOSE SENIORS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUNISHED BY BCCCI....ALL THE SUCCESS OF INDIA UNDER KIRSTEN AND THE WORLD CUP SUCCESS IS DIRECTLY BECAUSE OF WHAT CHAPPELL PLANNED AND THE PROCESS STRATED BY HIM YEARS AGO

yeah chappel also gave strategy for improving our nations economy,,,,but none of our economists understood that

hehe. He is one of the top openers for India. But it is funny we discuss his strike rate. Directed research and its vices.
indians supporting chappal brothers here are really slave mentality people for whom whites are always right and supreme... otherwise there have not been two worst cheaters than chappals in cricket...

They are still recovering from the snub ganguly gave to waugh it seems. Not digested yet.

Get a life slave mentality.. huh.... How does Black or white come in here? .. what matters is what is truth and what is right.

And you think you know the truth? Truth speaks for it self... Chappel has been a faliure as a coach and an administrator.. Not only India but also for Australia. I cant comment much on his cricketing skills, only thing is sure he definitely bowled an under arm delivery to win. Spineless characterless fellow. These are the facts. It is for u to see the truth or fiction..

yup. He was a crook and ganguly played him with the same strategy. Greg couldnt digest and wrote crap about gangu. Gangu given his chance is giving it back.

Ganguly is the true leader in cricket India has seen ever, From lambs , he has made us lions of cricket
Ganguly is a frustrated and bad loser and incompetent captain. He just cannot accept his time was over and there were better players waiting outside the team. That is why he could not make a comeback even after Chappel left!
As soon as he got dropped he started running to Pawar. Dalmiya etc. Many people get dropped. They dont make such fuss.
And looking at one year performance at that time, dropping him was justified. Team was doing well due to Sehwag, Sachin, and new guys like Gambhir, Yuvraj etc. This guy was just carrying on with the excuse of an 'aggressive captain' and 'successful captian'
Re: Bad loser ganguly

This whole team was doing well due to BS has been exposed too many times. But you use it selectively to suit your argument. Buddy a captain makes a difference. However i am not disputing that ganguly in provate had fears in plenty and exhibited them. Lots of people you idolize in public are different in private. But they conjure up the strength to overcome their fears. That is what makes them special.

Your axioms is not universal. Chappel was a pathetic people manager. He expressed his opinions about ganguly. Ganguly is giving it back.

Chappel was a bad people manager..maybe.. but he was right when he booted Ganguly out. Ganguly had no business running from Pawar to dalmiya. Many people get dropped. And esp when he was not performing. .it doesnt make sense..

maybe ? Isnt that obvious by now. As much as chappel did bring in the youngsters, he was quite wrong in his methods including axing ganguly. He is getting it back in plenty. Ganguly probably got it for his approach with players and people. Chappel needed a yes man and dravid unfortunately fit it perfectly. That is why batting talent does not mean leadership talent.

Chappel needed yes men but I never see him promoting yes-men who did not perform.. thats what i like about him

hehe. Right you only said he supported gambhir when he was not performing. my oh my do you read what you write ? Dude greg and gangu couldnt work together as both had big egos for whatever purpose it served them.
Ganguly started political games when he was dropped. Before that he was just carrying on in the Indian team without any performances. Slow and weak fielder, worse running b/w the wickets limited offside batsman, and no bowling talent. I dont know what contribution he was making to the team.
In ODIs where 275 runs were being made and chased regularly.. slow tortoises like him simply had no place. Dravid was slow too but he could do wicket-keeping to justify his place.
We cannot keep players in the team whose only job is to do "aggressive captainship". He was simply incapable in the new format.
I am very sure if we compare India's performance after Ganguly was removed.. one would see marked improvement.. as Chappel brought in Gambhir, Suresh Raina etc.. This was his greatest contribution to Indian cricket.
I salute him. He could not achieve anything but at least he cleaned the mess.

Rightly said, but Ganguly was good in the mind game and now also he is playing mind game to further lower the Australian's morale.

Dude are u missing ur masterji Greg.. what a shame should have taken u to AUSTRALIA.. u and greg would have made nice jodi..
I really pity. Thrown out by KKR in IPL, now, he is finding ways to get some publicity. He should understand that he is no longer wanted in Indian cricket
