Ganguly more than playing was concentrating on politics . When Chapel removed him he became frustrated and bad loser and started running from Pawar to dalmiya. He just cannot accept his time was over and there were better players waiting outside the team. That is why he could not make a comeback even after Chappel left!

funny. Ganguly had a patch that gambhir also had. But somehow we should support gambhir and sachin, but not ganguly. Of coz how can we forget he plays politics. Wonder whats the real reason. Not performing , or not being a yes man or being old ?

Gang-mein-ungli was there becasue of Dalmia. Azhar was there becasue of Lele. Both favours ran out and we got quality in Dhoni who won both world cups for us.

What about Sachin, Shehwag, Yuvraj and the likes? They came in the team during Lele/Dalmiya...were they also favored? But no point in talking logic to you parochial f o o ls..

hehe. All these myths that you guys hold dear. Ganguly was there because he was a leader of men. Of coz he also needed the support or backing of a strong BCCI man tks to the mess BCCI and indian zonal politics is. By the time dhoni was here scenario had changed. Dhoni is a different kind of person who is firm and calm at the same time. Different kinds of leaders. I don't understand the need to deride someone to show someone else better.

yeah nor does he waste time on the wicket. Gets walking back soon ? Most of the reasons thrown here have other examples in the same team. The real reason has nothing to do with all these myths. It seems like greg needed a yes man to implement his plans and gangu wasnt the right fit.

i want to join this company? can i send my resume through ur fiancee ??
if not for gregs tips and advice during aus tour of 2003, dada wouldnt have resurrected his overseas career and score a century in brisbane..dada himself has admitted..at that time itself dada should have known about greg..he is the one who recommended greg for coaching and now he cries..dada a sour loser and a cry baby..

Ganguly is a frustrated and bad loser and incompetent captain. He just cannot accept his time was over and there were better players waiting outside the team. That is why he could not make a comeback even after Chappel left!

You surely do have a good sense of humour i must say. You said a joke of the century!!!!
When Indian media was questioning.. why Gambhir is being given a chance again and again when he is failing, Why Suresh Raina is in the team, Chappel stood by them. And now we can see how good these players are!!
He removed tortoises like Ganguly from the team who couldnt make runs to make way for these players. Kirsten only built up on what Chappel started. I salute Chappel
Re: for Chappel bashers..

Right. But somebody who has proven his talent before and after the axing as well did not fit into the support scheme of things ? hehe. As much as you try, it is becoming more and more obvious that chappel wanted a yes man and gangu did not faill into that category. Now whether chappel was right or wrong is something i am not questioning esp when it comes to youngsters. But it could be a side effect of his yes men selection scheme for all we know.

salute the joker who could not lead India into the quarter finals also. ha ha ha....you must learn to known more about cricket than what you heard during your daily bus rides. Gangu took India to finals
Chappell may not have had a glorious ending with the Indian team...after the world cup disaster, the selectors looking for a scapegoat had to show him the door unceremoniously to appease the collective anger of a nation of idol-worshippers that fanatically hold on to their demigods....But I have no doubt that if he had his way with things and if the political mindset of some of the senior Indian players not ruined what he had planned, it would probably have been the best and most successful Indian team EVER...I still remember India under Chappell and DRavid winning matches on the trot, consecutively whitewashing opponents, something which you do not generally see with india which becomes complacent after winning 2 or 3 matches...Chappell gave more importance to fitness and team success rather than individual brilliance...so a non-performer had no place in such a team just because he is a senior...so the called seniors ganged up against him and ruined his grand plans...IT IS NOT CHAPPELL BUT THOSE SENIORS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUNISHED BY BCCCI....ALL THE SUCCESS OF INDIA UNDER KIRSTEN AND THE WORLD CUP SUCCESS IS DIRECTLY BECAUSE OF WHAT CHAPPELL PLANNED AND THE PROCESS STRATED BY HIM YEARS AGO

Well Said.. I think Ganguly delibrately underperformed during that time to take revenge on chappel

I agree on the under performing part. Ganguly sure did that. Greg played a game and ganguly worked his way back and helped in axing greg.

Do you call making Irfan Pathan an opening batsmen in a team of SEHWAG,GANGULY,SACHIN,DRAVID,YUVRAJ AND DHONI vision and grand plan? To me it is murdering the career of a very good bowler who can take wickets and score useful runs in the lower order.

You seem to have forgotten the 2007 world cup. It seems that after 2003 world cup you have directly watched the 2011 world cup.
