dont think like fairy tale, india did not train or utilize what we have today. Botham says England will win 1 dayers too, how?

Did we consider ROhit, Pragyan for test ? Kept on dragging Raina to spoil his 1 dayer game.

As long india is weak footed and weak time for rising and swinging balls outside off stumps with odd one coming inside, india will be stubbed again. Similar issues with Swann that is more like a medium pace spin.

India has not prepared against some methodological training and planning by angrez...

report says
our players were busy spending the money they earned during ipl.
they were busy nursing injuries incurred during ipl /hidden during ipl.
had no motivation to play for country vis a vis playing in club (level) ckt.
they had become arrogant that v r superheros n cant b defeated by any1.
they became complacent abt victories.

why is kotian blaming rohit sharma , what a fool
by D S on Aug 25, 2011 12:05 AM  | Hide replies

rohit salvaged lot of respect for india in WI. did you forget. Let not politics of Dhoni pals such as Yuiv , raina, etc weigh down on selection of Rohit, pragyan, etc.

Tony Greg is now in Queens service in Sri-lanka, visiting tourist spots to open Australia and Lanka connection like they have done with thailand, indonesia, etc.
giving non-critical advise to lankan bowlers that sound good but does not allow them to dominate over Australia batting.
Infact, Tony greg suggested that Ponting cannot be given LBW by ICC paid umpires by the way he angled his leg to stop ball from hitting the wicket. What is going on ?

india is took weak? they cannot counter angrez strategy from multiple direction to control all sorts of nations by sports, commerce, hidden professional network riding on slaves, recruitment-business-consulting agencies digging into business and jobs, defense deals, etc.

Selectors were in a dilemma in choosing the openers
by Nikhil Shah on Aug 24, 2011 11:22 PM

The aftermath of this series boils down to one thing. Over the past 7 tests or 14 innings they had the right options in the WI in the absence of Shewag and Gambhir. So for the England tour should the selectors go with a pair which has been playing but not as established as Gambhir and Sehwag?

This resulted in India getting poor starts for the last 14 Test innings. What is the solution then?

It would be better to not rest the openers. Shewag was injured but that was not avoidable. Missing both openers in WI was a problem.

Murali Vijay had bailed Gambhir out in India, but it is not possible to bail both out at the same time.

The inclusion of Ishant and Gambhir has made a big difference to the Indian side over the last 2 years. We hope Varun Aaron and Rahane can add to this difference.

Though Ishant has slowed down, Varun will make a similar impact early. It can decide to focus more high nutrition diet and a very strict fitness regiment along with playing lesser cricket than needed.

Varun Aaron in this short List-A career has an eco rate of 4.6, which makes him a legitimate contender which his pace to survive the Indian team.

Possible solutions for Team India's revival
by Prashant Shenoy on Aug 24, 2011 03:27 PM

1. Improve players' fitness and get the bench strength right.
2. Bring in young players and encourage them. Let them accompany the team wherever the matches are, so that they can learn quickly.
3. Get atleast 1-2 genuine all rounders like Shane Watson, Flintoff, Kallis. All test playing nations, except India, have atleast one genuine all-rounder. Now don't call Sehwag or Yuvraj/Raina as all rounders. They are not.
4. Induct atleast 2 really fast bowlers with good fitness, who can consistently bowl at 145-150 kmph.
5. Prepare bouncing/swinging/seaming pitches in India for all domestic matches. This way, even batsmen of the next era will not face difficulty in facing South African/English conditions.
6. There should be a gap of atleast 1 month between IPL and any series (be it home or away).

The above list is only indicative and not exhaustive. An exhaustive list cannot be prepared, as everyone in India have their own view. This is mine.

What is the solution?
by swapnil ghate on Aug 24, 2011 03:14 PM  | Hide replies

1. Separate team and captains for Tests, ODIs and T20s?

2. Discarding Seniors?

3. More practice games overseas?

4. More planning?

5. Better Fitness?

But no overseas team has been able to beat India in a series even by a fluke...why?

Doesn't it mean that other teams are worst overseas if India is average...?

Boss, Other teams might have fallen in India, but they beaten other away teams. But India failed against most away team ( away from subcontinent). That is the difference.
