The true test of a captain is when he has no talent. Yes, he has done well, but this was already a team which flourished before.
The exclusion of Umesh Yadav in SA and Varun Aaron has been an issue. In addition, when the WC was played India could not defend 339 in 50 overs and the selection of Piyush Chawla was a big blunder because India could have lost the WC had it not been for the Seniors.
Another blunder is the exclusion of Shikhar Dhawan who was a legitimate ODI opener compared to Dinesh Karthik and Parthiv and the chronic absences of Gambhir, Sehwag and Sachin.
The lack of grooming of Tiwari and with no real find of the series in the absence of seniors was the major issue rather than losing the rankings.
Mukund Anand and Murali Vijay should have continued for the England tour even though they failed in WI, because they were legitimate openers.
Overall, I would call this a farce if the youngsters were not properly exposed since winning cannot be expected and a wasted chance for the future.
The selectors had no clue about which player is suitable for which format.
Rahane's developement should have started in SA as a Test top order and Tiwari in the Test middle order so that they were ready in WI.
Overall, Dhoni tends to select line and length with swing but the strike capability has hurt India and his bias for Praveen Kumar, R.I.P Singh, Ohja and Jaidev Unankant over strike bowlers like Ishant, Mishra, Varun and Umesh will show up when the batting is depleted
I think team need to change India coach(Duncan Fletcher). I don't think Indian team coach is right for them. this is what happened previously for England when he was coach. I don't know why India cricket board hired him. we need other carry kirsten.
Senir indian players are scared to give chance to youngsters thinkin that if they perform well they will loose place in team so they are playing with injury

I feel indian bowlers do not watch how england boalers were boaling. They should watch them carefully&plan their boaling action.we had given too many loose boals which were hit allround
K Srikanth should not have selected the injury prone players and out of form players, how big their image is and should have selected the in form and fit players and the result would have been different and india would have regained no 1 status of the test team. but the selecters keeps on repeating such mistakes. Anna Please save india from their clutches.

When Dhoni & other selectors need their region players & f---k buddies who is not even considered for Duleep trophy from their Zone what Srikkanth can do. The media, sponsors,BCCI played heir part in coercing the selection. Class players like Badri,Vijay,A.Mukhund,Dinesh,Rohitwere not given chances & when they were given chances they were removed from team after a single failure wheres as incompetent fellows like Raina,Yuvi,Kohli,Munaf,Praveen were in the team time & again. Where is the media & why allthe ba-----ds are blaming selection instead of Dhoni. What is Dhoni's contribution in the last two tours viz WI & England. Dhoni has to be sacked & a new captain & a new coach(Indian) batting, bowling & fielding will be the need of the hour. Is there anybody in BCCI to act properly. No,it is run by MNC's,D Gang & Pawar.

I think one of the issues thats ailing team sports in India in general is the diversity we have with respect to the different states and the people. No other team involved in any team sport like football, hockey, basketball etc in the world has this constraint. For any team sport to be successful, there has to be total synergy and this comes only with people feeling connected to each other through a common language. English does not have a great chance since less than 10% use this on a day to day basis. If we send any regional team, they will be able to put up a better performance in a team sport situation than the national team in the long run...

where is Madrasis?.Because Dhoni not given chances to TN players the curse has punished him & he can never win except against Zimbabwe,Kenya & Ireland.
Rank underestimation of England's prowess by the Indians. Horrible bowling and rudderless team with little visible help from the captain and the senior players. Sachin,s penchnt for net practice and holidaying with his family in preference to training hard for a vital series. Total inadequacy of the young Indian crop of batsmen against swing, seam and bouncy bowling The sad part is the even poorer bench strength. One solution, avoid touring England in the future

And perhaps not tour SA, NZ and Aus because they prepare bouncy tracks as well. Sri lanka prepares spinning tracks that does not suit Indian spinners. No one recommends touring Pak die to political climate. SO that leaves Zim, Bangladesh and of course Netherlands! Another is true to Indian tradition we can invite every team to India so our players can be comfortable playing their natural game!

On Sewag - I really careless if they don't selct him ever. I am saying this because of his attitude. He knew he needed shoulder surgery and waited for IPL to finish, especially when he knew we have series coming up against WI and England.
We should drop him as there are thousands poor kid working so hard to have shot at a spot ion the national team. And someone like Sehwag has no value for it..
