Careless batting except Dravid
by anil Richhariya on Aug 23, 2011 06:02 PM  | Hide replies

All batsmen were in negative mind frame except Dravid. Shots played by Dhoni is most occassions in this series were outrageous. Sachin looked shaky and worst was VVS.
Dhoni still need to learn batting in tests and come out from T 20 phrase. Anyway good lessons to learn and most important one WHY WE STILL NEED DRAVID..?

Dravid id great and what he lacks in flamboyance (sehwag) the artistery (VVS) and the brilliance (SRT), he makes it up by his desire and will to stick around. Additionally, he is probably the only Indian who has managed to keep his physical and mental stamina to last long periods. It is unfortunate, he has not got the media and public attention he richly deserves. I am sure he realizes it too, but I am happy that he is not affected by it...

Supporting Indians is one thing, and patting their backs after this debacle, and saying: "Well Done!" is another.
All 16 members of this team need to be told: Enough is enough.

Support Indians but not the cricket team members. Time to kick out half of them especially the Ferrari lover.

Why only point at Sachin?
Many others including Dhoni the Great were not there?

You can not blame Sachin for collapse of team in just 21 runs after he was out. (Ishant scored 7 out of those 21)

Are u comparing SRT with Dhoni or Ishant. The cricketer who has lot of centuries in his basket, who is most experience player, and even called a God of Cricket cannot perform well in all 4 tests seems to be an ordinary cricketer.

My dear nobody accepts dhoni is great. He is a fantastic captain thats why india was at No.1 position and not by Mr Sachin. Sachin only scores if opener starts well in tests, otherwise he tried to back to pavilion as soon as possible. He is the most senior player, he should be in the crease and guide all the players to perform. But he never did.

Need to analyse what is that the English players did to swing/move the ball viciously when Indian bowlers failed to move the ball slightly. Why the english bowlers were seen to go to dressing room again and again during the play and for what(Pointed out by great Sunil Gavasker yesterday).Did any one examine the ball to make sure no solvent/greasy material was used to make the ball swing profusingly. The difference in the standards of bowling of two teams can not be substantial. There is something fishy and need to be looked into.Pl remember great John Lever's deed of 70 ies when he applied grease to make the ball swing violently.

One thing I would like to share that India could retain their No 1 spot only because of the consistant performance of sachin.check last two years batting stat and comment on him.Yes he failed in this series but that doesn't meant that he is not serving to the team or juniors.

Sachin is one,
but what happened with other Gods?
Dhoni, Gautam, Suresh, VVS? When given a chance Sehwag took home a spectacle -0-0-

Now come to Shreekanth & Shivram Yadav - both have spoiled national team for choosing players of their choice. They have allowed injured players as well & denied chance to young players waiting in line.

I am not against sachin, but people of our country including some new players are made him great ahead of other great players. No doubt he is great, But he should perform whenever the team needed. See the world cup final, everybody got him on the shoulder and showing to all that final was won by only sachin. Nobody was near captain Mr Dhoni. isn't it.

the fact is Sachhin, Dravid, laxman and Sehwag cannot be replaced in quality by any of the current players in India. However, that does not mean that they will play for the rest of their lives. Part of the grooming process is to accept it and try to find the best possible replacements. Additionally, we should keep Dravid and SRT in the team and slowly phsae them over the next two years. The rest of the team is dispensable and other youngsters should be roped in (i.e., Rahane, Tiwary, R Sharma, Rayadu, Badrinath, Kohli, Parthiv, Aaron, Umesh Yadav, Unadkant, Ohja, ...). These guys in the company of the 2 seniors in the final 11 will develop into competetive cricketers.

the most important thing is to change our mindset. we love instant gains and not willing to wait. Remember, not long ago England was a laughing stock too, but they showed some patience and groomed some of these players around Strauss and KP.

rethink before you speak. U shud be ashamed of yourself for using such cursive language for a great player.
I understand your agony but what about the other nine in the team. Did they performed except Dravid? Is run making the responsisbility of Sachin only? Dhoni & others went to england for fun?
Stop putting allegations on anybody its a team game. if it loses then a team has to take responsibilty of that loss not an individual.
