Gambhir needs a break...

I feel resting Gambhir for the next 2 matches against the Kiwis might help him to regain form for the crucial test series against the Proteas later in the year. I dont think resting him for the test matches would affect his performance in the ODIs. So the WC shouldnt be a worry for now.

Sirji,
Let him play two test matches against kiwis, atleast he can score some runs and add to his records. All we know how he dance and break dance(his favorite Jugni disco special)on SA live pitches.

law of averages
by Sunil Vaidya on Nov 10, 2010 02:33 PM

gambhir is a class act. no need to drop him. it is just a case of law of averages. if you play continuously well for so long naturally the failures are also going to come in bunches together.

sometimes the succeses and failures are interspersed. sometimes they are not.

gambhir needs to be rested or dropped... he is a waste player now and team can't give him any more chances...

Rocky...Can you name atleast one player of his class who can open for india. Vijay too had enough chances. Gambhir was dropped for vijay sake. Its just another politics by Srikanth and Dhoni to bring in chennai super kings players into team

No one can match his class
by domainking on Nov 10, 2010 02:11 PM  | Hide replies

He is a good left handed opener for india. we do not have anyone left hander to open as gambhir.. so no question of changing him. If bhajji scores more runs in last 8 innings does he become great no na.. so no question of changing gambhir

Have to consider the fact he has been suffering from injuries .Like many in Indian Team he does not want to skip IPL because there is so much money involved .
Next whether by nomination or over enthusiasm he goes to press and talks How indian team can walk over many teams - allows his mouth to do lot of talking than bat .this leads to thinking that success has gone over his head .Also he should play initially within V - you see how he starts his innings by poking and running as if he is afraid of facing the bowling .Get backto basics - in test cricket it is getting your eyc in and reading the pitch and the bowlers before you start playing for runs .Note How sachin scores so few runs in the first fifty balls he faces - his strike rate doubles or tribles in the next 50 balls - Patience is the key. Although we have won enoug test matches recently - let us be clear we have not dominated the tests - we won .
Gambir should PRACTICE MEDITATION AND DO DEEP BRATHING WHILE BATTING IN BETWEEN BALLS BEING BOWLED .

gary is the spoiler
by veerapuram dharan on Nov 10, 2010 01:59 PM

gambhirs slump is atrributed to garys guidance. gambhir, when he started his career, was almost like a left handed viru. he matches viru stroke by stroke and is attacking. in the last year or so, he has changed his style. like when the bowler bowls, he comes across well outside the off like how gary used to do..any person shouldnt change his individual style..if any one says viru to change his style by playing defensive, i bet he will hit the ball more harder than ever before..he wotn listen to any one..
