every player suffered from such bad phase in career. gambhir is no doubt very good batsman. one good innings can bring his form back. ups and down are part of game. sachin, rahul, viru, laxman all were passed from such bad form in past. so its not big issue.

Please he should also be rested

Why is Bikash silent on Dhoni's failures. When did he last play a match winning Test innings?

might be he is not fully fit.
He is out of team for injury at one test and then the include for other.

Probably he need more time to recover completly.
Bcause he is an important player in indian schema for wc.

ridiculous
by veerapuram dharan on Nov 10, 2010 01:47 PM

ofcourse one should pity for murali vijay. there is nothing wrong in giving gambhir another chance. going by the same yardstick, even raina should have given way for yuvi. rains is also in slump of form. hes just a t20 player where as pujara and vijay had toiled hard in domestic seasons and made their way here..michael hussey and marcus north were in their past 30s when they made their debut as they were rewarded for their shows in domestic cricket. no ones place should be granted..even gamhir, a veteran in domestic, first came into the limelite when he scored a doube hundred for board pres 11 against the visitng zimbabweans in 2000. but he as finally rewarded the test cap much later..hence, going by the trend, this should be our final 11

gambhir
viru
dravid
pujara
sachin
laxman
parthiv
zak
ishant
sree
ojha

bhajjipujara
vijay
mithun
dinesh

never mind, many talks about vijay/karthik got more opportunity. but they really played a replacement role for viru/gambir/dhoni.
its jadeja/rohit got more chances and wasted.

M S DHONI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by Jayanta Bhattacharjee on Nov 10, 2010 01:38 PM

GAMBHIR WAS THE MOST SUCCE3SSFUL AND CONSISTENT PERFORMER FOR ALMOST TWO AND HALF TO THREE YEARS BEFORE HIS SETBACK IN INJURIES, HE IS STILL A GOOD ENOUGH PLAYER TO BE A PART OF INDIA TEAM IN EVERY FORMAT OF GAME, WE'VE HAVE TO BE PATIENT..
HOW MUCH M S DHONI (CAPTAIN COOL) MADE IN LAST 10 TESTS, AFTER GROUNDING SO MANY CACHING AND STAMPING OPPORTUNITIES, EXCEPT GIVING 'LAMBA LAMBA' SPEECH ??!! BASICALLY HE DON'T DESERVE TO BE A PART IN INDIA'S TEST SQUAD..

I agree that he is good player and performed very well in 08 and 09. But please dont pick him in the WC squad if he is not in form. Prove that country's pride is above individual. In 2007, Rahul Dravid (captain that time) picked against selectors wishes two out of form player (in 2007) bhajji and viru and rest is history
