Only sore loosers blame IPL
by Injun Abhi on May 15, 2010 06:08 AM

Aussie has their own T20 league like IPL, and most of the Aussies played IPL as well. And the same with England, they got county cricket, T20 league as well as they played in IPL. SriLanka and NewZeland players also have their own league and played in IPL as well..

Guess what, all those teams made it to Semi, then why not India? SA were blaming IPL that theire players didn't get enough chance to hon their T20 skill and that was part of the reason they lost. And we're blaming IPL for our failure when the players when they had plenty of opportunities in IPL to improve their T20 skill. Players around the world gettin better playing in IPL and..

The problem is with out players and not IPL.. Look at Yuvi for a change, working on building belly. How tactical our Captain was and how about the team selection?

scrape IPL
by J S on May 15, 2010 01:42 AM  | Hide replies

Scrap IPL and you will see everything is in place! Look at Australian team, they do not have IPL and they are focused only in Cricket. Eventually, they will win the T20 world cup 2010! When money matters, sport takes the back stage. This is what exactly happening and too many politicians are unnecessarily involved in decision making body. Remember, Ricky Pointing has opted out from IPL so that he could concentrate only on coming England tour !!

I would love to see any of you walk in to you bosses office and say 'I cannot do this because I put in enough hours'. I live in the US and see baseball palyers playing over 162 games in a course of 6 months. I do not see any of them using this as a reason for non performance. The fact is we live in a world, where the expectation increase and rightly so. These players are not worn out by the 3/12 hour games they played, but with the late hour parties they had. The bottom line is that they are just mediocre - and now searching for a easy way out. Blame it on IPL.

IPL is the big reason.
by RKrishna on May 14, 2010 08:43 PM  | Hide replies

I respect Gavaskar as the best technical batsman but come on, 60 matches in 45 days, travel, parties and no match practice in WI. what else can happen, BCCI should respect ICC events and prepare schedule accordingly.

I am not against IPL but damn reduce matches by half like dividing the teams into 2 groups.
Indians never produced fast bowlers, whoever is performing like Ishanth and RP were killed by IPL lone.

Complete SA team played in IPL and see what happened? Look at the Indian team man, they are playing more than 200 days in a given year, no other team is playing such packed schedule.

If the team is free for 2 weeks BCCI arranging Bangladesh tour, 3 weeks then Srilanka tour, 10 days then triangular series and in which you see more or less the same team.
Did you realize we couldn’t play practice match in WI before the tournament? BCCI is after ONLY money, they are cash-rich but still they couldn’t have the fixed test match season like the aussies. IPL is turning out to be 'Golden Goose' for the BCCI.

Indian t-20 loss is attributed to IPL and mostly BCCI and its money hungry(and senseless) administration.

Go and check past schedules.. Aussie players play lots of cricket - and more then India. And they're always fit and ready to go...

Indian T20 loss has nothing do with IPL.. They're just using it as excuse to escape their lazy irresponsible attitude

Listen to what South Africa has said. They're blaming IPL because theire players didn't get enough opportunities to sharpen their T20 skill.. Get the fact straight and you will say the same what Gawasker is saying.

Gavaskar is a big idiots.. he himself in his life never score on short pitch ball he just left it..he is just a test player..he make 35 odd run in 60 over oneday match.. He does not have any moral right to comment anybody for oneday and T20 performance...

My dear Asheesh, Gavaskar scoring 36 not out in 60 overs is just one isolated incident. Though he had never been a great one day players, he had played some very useful innings in One-day internationals.

How you can say that he had never scored on short pitch ball.During his playing era(1971-1987), he scored 7 centuries on bouncy west indian wickets against high class quality pace bowers such as Roberts, Holding, Marshall, Julian, Holder, Daniel etc.(Gavasker never faced Garner in test match)...and just look at the playing conditions prevalant at that time...uncovered pitches, no restrictions on bouncers, no nuetral umpires, no code of conduct for players... Gavaskar did not use helmet during his entire careear... and he never got injured while playing test match...during Gavsakar's time, against West Indies,he had to face pace bowers throught the day as WI used to play with 4 genuin place bowers.

It was very rare to see Gavaskar hitting any Pull, hook or lofted shot. But his cover and square drives were spectacular, if not as spectacular as Vishwanath's square cuts and onside wristy flicks. However, Gavaskar was very slow batsmen and used to waste too many deliveries to reach from 90 to 100.

His primary aim used to be play for his centuries. Ravi Shashtri has always been best Chamcha. And Tendulkar is next to his kind of batsmen as far as personal records are concerned.

You're absolutely right Genius.. What moral rights Gavaskar has to ask our Player to stop blame game and concentrate on improving their game and fitness.. Because they're contracted player and they have job to do for their country

You're right, our players like Yuvi and gang keep enjoying their celebrity life style and keep partying all nights and goof around with their women.. We keep loosing big games.. ohh yeahhh..

India HAVE MANY 'IFS' AND 'BUTTT' that saves the wrong PEOPLE
by E darwin on May 14, 2010 06:13 AM

Kirsten is preparing 'ifs and butts'

THEY WONT fire a bad captain DHONI, Pakistan would have DONE IT LONG LONG AGO... INDIANS are blind. THEY HAVE MANY
'IFS' AND 'BUTTT'

....THAT IS WHY PAKIS ARE IN SEMIS. Good job paki guys.... even if you are not lucky with AUZ who have Holland Pacer
Nannes as well that bought them to semis and some IPL players. Even England has holland origin SA player petersen.

Dont want to blame the rest of india 10 players when management forces Dhoni upon them. Babuas blasting diversionary message on
all sites confuses people more.

In such enviroment, yeeha coach thoo india kooha long ride phaar lheey jaayegaa
