It is normal to compare IPL and worldcup but the point we are missing is that in IPL we have 50 days of tournament and each team has to face other teams 2 times in different venues. Then only knockout stage occurs whereas worldcup T20 format the knockout stage is brought very much earlier without fully accustoming with the pitch and all teams. This is a flawed format and finishes within less than half the duration of IPL. So this cannot be aptly called a WORLDCUP may be someother cup u may call. So in this light we don't need to bother too much about losing in a flawed format.
A worldcup should bring out the best in the team by testing the strongest teams by giving more than one oppurtunity to play against. In this aspect IPL stands out.!!!

You guyz are driven by medias opinion. Media can create and destroy anything. Use your brain to arrive at your own conclusions.
Any expert worth his name don't accept this tournament as a worldcup just becoz its played every two years.
Arrogant Dhoni and Dumb Srikanth. Playing 11 in every match was flawed. Zaheer Khan should never be taken for a WC , he always fails, see the record. Every WC he gets injured or gets thrashed.
Every team played atleast 3 pace bowlers only India played 5 spinners who kept getting hit for SIX after SIX. Still Dumb Dhoni couldnt pick Umesh Yadav who bowls at 145 mph. Idiotic to say the least.

And why do you say that Srikanth is flop? He is the selector who picked Test Number 1 and ODI Number 2 team.

indians do not produce battery of fast bowlers who can throw at more than 140 km per hour consitently. that denies their batsmen necessary practice to face such attack on its on it's day. their success are mostly on the occassion when the opponent's pace attack is off form or wicket does not aid them or aids spin or when the indian batsmen performance is oustanding. it was not due to IPL or Dhoni or selectors or coaches. let us realise it.
Well, all I see here is the blasting of Dhoni by millions and billions of cricket fans.
But the fact and reality is we don’t even have one player or any great player in the form who can win the cup for us. Dhoni can’t do anything when Ashish Nehra bowled those fulltosses to Sri Lankan tailenders. You think that is what Dhoni told his bowlers? OK, suppose we have the different bowlers, tell me one Indian fast bowler who can trouble world’s good, not great, batsman. Not even one we have in the team.
Great captains always being called as greats because they use the talents they had in their team. for an examples, Imran Khan. He had greats likes of Abdul Qadir, Akram and Waqar. When the team don’t have resources, you just can’t do anything. Dhoni has no confidence in Indian fast bowling and that is the reason he kept on opting for slow bowlers.
Well, Dhoni did make mistakes in this tournament but just blaming him is no use.
As a one billion cricket playing nation, in our cricket history, the only tournament we have won so far is the World Series Benson and Hedges in 1985. The 1983 world cup and 2007 T20 world cup is just like a flash in the pan.
Again, leaving Uthappa to Caribbean was a blunder. It is not how technically sound you are. It is how gutsy you are and Uthappa is a perfect example for that.
