The Tamilnadu & South Zone spinner Ashwin is very unfortunate to miss the bus this time. Easily he is the best spinning option available in India now. In the Duleep Trophy match he took 6 wickets of Central Zone to bring his team back in to the game. With Harbhajan becoming a lifeless bowler, Ashwin would have been an ideal replacement.

At present Mumbai and delhi have the best lobbying committee in the Bbci. Just as Miandad correctly said, cricket is becoming a mafia.

Yes, Mumbai has the best lobbying committee in the BCCI. May be thats why there is always only one Mumbai player in the team, either Sachin or Rohit. Other good performers like Nayar & Kulkarni should expect an oppertunity if & only if both Sachin & Rohit are injured at the same time.
It was another big disappointment for Pujara. He is perhaps the most unluckiest cricketer of the decade to lose every time the selection board meets to chose a team. We can not blame selectors also because now a days only an injury to senior players may open opportunities to youngsters. In the case of Mithun it was an easy choice as he has every potential to become India's No. 1 bowler like his predecessor and Guru Javagal Srinath.
He should be given a chance to make debut in Nagpur and even if he could not he should not make way for Sreeshanth to enter the 15 member team. Mithus should be a better bowler than loud mouth Sreeshanth.

Sreeshanth and Ishant can perform only against underdogs like bangladesh and ireland. Moreover the acts of sreeshanth after claiming wicket is deplorable so his personal life. To that extent Ishant is admirable. Mithun selection is a welcome decision and I am sure, he will perform to the expectation of Dravid and Srinath and will prove srikanth right in his selection.
All the best Mithun. 5 crore Kannadigas are behind you to cheer. You will definitely succeed and bring co lour to Karnataka. Good Luck.

Why only 5 cr kannadiggas? As it was rightly said by Ian Chappel few weeks back, India does'nt have a Champion bowler to remain at the top position.
Entire nation is waiting for couple of very good bowlers.
But comments of Mr. Balasubramanian, Bangalore is a good display of narrow minded mentality of the Kannadiggas.

Certainly not as narrow minded as you North Indians invariably are. Have to see for self the arrogant and devil may care attitude of these people from (north of Vindhya) in our Bengaluru. Have the courage and conviction to accept the fact that Karnataka has produced a genuine fast bowler and by the grace of almighty, a True Kannadiga is likely to become the fastest bowler ever produced in India.

In the past, many bowlers like Irfan Pathan, Munaf Patel were hyped as fastest bowlers before their debut. But later they started bowling @120Kms. Letz see what this lad does.
As far as narrow mindedness of Kannadiggas is concerned, entire nation has seen how they treat Marathi people in Karnataka. So no more evidence required.

pujari, nayar, ajinika are unfortunately not having the lobbing as the other players like harbhajan, dravid, vvs, rohit, etc... kerala must send a lobbying team and get nayar included
Re: Re: Cheteshwar
by Ramdas Nayak on Jan 29, 2010 10:15 AM
Nayar is playing for Mumbai not for Kerala. He has been given opportunity but he could not utilise it. Pujara can only replace Laxman in the team if the latter fails. Dravid does not need a lobby for selection. Poor Rohit is not in the team.

mr.x, don't add dravid in the list. He has already proved his class. You must be carrying some prejudice against him

Let Sachin, Laxman, Sehwag have injuries then we will consider three of them. But What about Raina, Rohit & Virat Kohli??

Its Ajinkya and Pandey. Please mention correct names and also correct english
Manish Pandey, Abhishek Nayar, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Mohd Kaif, R Vinay Kumar..... Why the bloody hell the player has not given chances .... This all players are good players ..... they deserve chance to play once for the country.......
Re: Unfair to the players not given chance
by Ramdas Nayak on Jan 29, 2010 10:11 AM
Selectors are helpless as they could accommodate only 15 players in the team hence the players whom you support don't have place even though they deserve chance.
Re: Revenge
by onen attarwala on Jan 29, 2010 02:47 PM
Since srikant was coming in chairman of selector, he only consider abt south zone player likes vijay, kartick, badrinath etc.....he is not considering parthiv patel, munaf patel, Dhaval kulkarni, pujara, etc players from west zone........
Ranadeb Bose was included in indian team but never given a chance and discarded. How come the bloody selectors evaluate his ability without a chance? He is a better swing boller than many present indian bollers today and certainly deserves a place.

you are saying this just because you and Ranadeb are bong, isn't it? Your emotions are cloding your reasoning. If not, explain.

RB does not have pace. on indian pitches he is cannon fodder to any hard hitting batsman. its high time we start taking bowlers with raw pace and stop calling these bowlers as pacers. they are little faster than Kumble.
