Mithun real age was 21 when he played Under 19 and is actually 23 years old. One good domestic season is not good enuf to get picked for Test cricket. He is lucky but I think the selectors are nuts.

They waited "many seasons", for Srinath, and then made him wait on bench while Kapil "paji" waited for his 400 wickets record. His pace was wasted away and he was less than menacing when he actually started bowling. Let that not happen to any body. Give Mithun enough opportunties to prove, and replace him if he doesn't perform. There is enough cricket and more than enough injuries around to have reserve players around. Good luck to Mithun, use the opportunity!
All these guys have a very low profile and are selectd from Ranji performance which is tough to get selected these days considering most of them are selected these days either with there under 19 world cup, ipl etc..so i expect these guys to perform well , tough and not loose this golden opportunity .I hope Mithun brings the fire which is missing in India bowling line up. Ashish Nehra looks too tired after bowling in T20 mathes in IPL's..with his age catching up he is rightly ignored.But he can fit in ODI provided he gets his fitness and consistency right.
Good move to push youngsters in test arena and groom them.Mithun deserves this chance. Hope he learns his lessons quick
