Saha
by Raghu on Jan 29, 2010 02:16 PM  | Hide replies

While saha may be a great prospect for future wicket keeper batsmen for India... i dont understand the logic behind dropping inform Karthik.. Though karthik hasnt fired with centuries.. he has shown pretty decent skills both behind the stumps and with the bat with the limited opportunities he has got.. not to forget that he is a great fielder as well...
God knows what was going on in kris Srikant's mind..

According to Indian cricketing experts Saha is the best keeper in the country at present. Kartick played so many test and one day only due to he is belong to the same state of Board President and in recent Chattagram test he is been a failure as a keeper and as a batsman. He had not done anything either with bat or with gloves that he will get chance all the time. It must be better to check new faces.

he is also playing on the team for the board presidents 11

if he is not genuine pace then the selectors are making a big mistake by taking a kid to a man's game where smith and co will eat him for breakfast. nehra or gagandeep or munaf would have been better choices. i am liking nehra a lot these days. he is way more complete than most of these so called fast bowlers. to me he is as good or a better bowler than zaheer. thats the answer i want to find - why mithun? is it just quota system, replace a south zone with another or are teh selectors truely in search of talent????

It is because of people like you that we are breaking the country by taking name of Zonal System. Let us all first be Indians and then talk about Cricket.

Mr.Sonny this guy Mithun is clocking speed in excess of 140kmph. Note that he is the highest wicket taker in Ranji Trophy this season. Just because u like Nehra a lot these days, cricket team cannot be selected to please u. Team is selected to win matches. If somebody bowls with raw pace with lot of bounce on Indian Pitches, groom him in Indian Pitches to play big stage cricket and after getting the kic of International Cricket, he will be a great force for India in Australia/SouthAfrica/England.

Hence always look positives of a player and do not doscount anybody by name or zone or State.

shankar

It is delightful to known that Mithun is 140 kmh. Someone mentioned he is around 150 . It would be great to see an indian fast bowler offering chin music.

Hope we see that in the test as they say - the proof is in the pudding.

I totally agree with you in your comments and that we should select an indian team and not one based out of regionalism. But history tells us, many a times, it was not the case. I just hope that this time around it is a true talent selected by sri and co, keeping the best interest of the country and its fans. It boils down to this....if Mithun bowls above 140 consistently in the match, his selection is justified - as in a nation that is short in speed, any potential of speed should be nurtured. If however he bowls at 135 just like Nehra and others, then i dont think you will get much support in trying out Mithun against a strong side such as SA where other than Zaheer there is no consistency in pace with a struggling Ishant in tests. Really as a young bowler, who is touted to have pace, inconsistency or lack of wickets may be accepted, but the pace will be there for us to measure....then we can decide on the selectors interests...and by the way I hope you are correct on this. Comment. Thanks to all for their input.

Selection committee has lost its mind!
by Talisman on Jan 29, 2010 11:03 AM  | Hide replies

Giving someone that has done well in Ranjis is great. Mithun deserves it. At the same time, leaving out Kaif who is a class player that is in prime form is plain stupidity.

Wish Sreekanth selection committee has some criteria otherthan picking up green horns and wasting team india's chances of remaining on TOP.

Fire this committee.

I fully agree with you.

Kaif should have been included in the Indian Cricket Team because:

1. Our bowling line-up is pathetic. There is no chance that this line-up can take 20 wickets in a match against South Africa, that too on flat pata India wickets.

2. Kaif has been in the form of her life, has given back-to-back hits since last couple of years.

CONCLUSION: If Katrina Kaif is selected in the team, South African batsmen will get distracted & loose their wickts.

So we want KATRINA KAIF.

Mohd. Kaif's form in the Ranji Trophy was quite ordinary. Because of his poor form, his team could not make it to the finals. Now about which 'form' is Mr. Tale talkin about?
In IPL-2, he was sent home before the start of the tournament.

Kaif should be selected in the Indian Team, but not as a player, but as a Fielding Coach.

When the match is in progress, let him seat and enjoy some pickle.

It will be good that BCCI have two indian teams. Then all the deserving players will get a chance. One team can play SA and one can got out of India and play NZ.Players like Kaif, Rohit, Karthik Partiv Pujara, badri etc will get a chance. Since BCCI is very powerful they can have a second indian team as well

Hello publisher, Before entering media first learn basic ethics. How did you write meaningless two-Test series in Bangladesh. First learn what is sportsmen ship, non of the team is strong or weak everyone has their own capability. I think you have forgotten due to this Bangladesh team India had to come out of the world cup series in 2007. Win or Loose is the part of the game, participation and dedication for the game is important for a sportsmen.
