Now, Champion teams play at their best whether they are playing a lesser team or a better one. Only loosers think of playing less than their best. Now, where does that leave you?
Re: Re: why is god of cricket playing
by sachin on Jan 19, 2010 11:07 AM
no one is asking anyone to play less than their best ..but we want the best team to be developed . and for that everyone should get a chance...

You want othres to listen to you, you have to show some respect and be willing to read others opinion.
You have given no specifics and have not named a player that deserves a chance - because of your performance. You want to get into the indian team, 'cause you want a quota for youngsters that cannot even score a centruy in domestic matches?

You are right sachin. we should send under 16 team to play against Bangladesh.
Its been shocking that these players have been consistently performing bad, n still end up finding the place in the side. This should be thier last chance to prove. Yuvraj is the most over hyped player. Dhoni is very lucky to have the team which he desires. While Ganguly who changed the Indian Cricket never got the team he wanted. Remember, Sehwag, Kaif, Yuvraj, Zaheer they all prospered under Ganguly. Ganguly always supported these players, coz he knew their strengths. Since the introduction of Dhoni as a captain we saw exit of Kaif, Parthiv Patel, Venu Gopal, Agarkar, n even Sehwag.(sehwag was out of team india for 16months). Ishant, Shreesanth are still learn n learning. Our bench strenght is huge. We have likes of Munaf, Dinda, Tyagi, RP Singh, Agarkar, they all can perform at a given time. Virat is superb n can replace Yuvraj. Dhoni as a caption is wonderful. Sachin is great. Sehwag is world Fearsest. This is no. 1 team (except for new craps, who need to be shown doors).

Yup! Agarkar is far better bowler compare to Sree Santh, Ishant Sharma, RP and Nehra; in every aspect, in fielding, in bowling and in Batting. Sree Santh, RP, Ishant all have given runs at an eco rate of 5.5 and their strike rate is too higher than Agarkar. Than what are they doing in the team? Agarkar did well in his last series yet he was not included and never tried again. But look at Santh, ISHANT and Nehra they are in the team ever after failing in series after series!

What can someone write about sachin which is not written, discussed or imagined already, by a billion souls?
1) His burden of carrying the expection of a nation with a billion plus population. 2) Delivering more often than not. 3) 20 years of nonstop action at the helm of cricket. 4) Answering his critics in his own style. 5) Inducing self doubt among the world’s best bowlers. 6) Continuing to be the nemesis of all opposition captains even after 20 years of international cricket...
and such a list will grow endlessly, and we would have read every bit of it one hundred times already. So, to write something new and refreshing about the master has become difficult.
Today, I am dedicating this article to those pundits who feel and speak the following thing; sachin is no way near his best, the sweet old days are over, his reflexes has slowed down, he is not a force anymore.
It was here in New Zeal Land, Sachin was first asked to open the innings. I still consider that knock to be the most brutal knock ever played in One Day cricket. In a slow and difficult pitch while chasing a tricky target of 142, the scoreboard read 117/1 out of which 3 were extras and sachin scored 82 of 48 balls with 15 fours and 2 sixes. It has been 15 years since and I have not seen such a knock, Jayasurya, Afridi and Gilchrist have scored quickly but no one as quickly on such a track. The beauty of that knock was all the shots were orthodox cricketing shots. The cover and extra cover field

If that Sachin was feared by the opposition captain, this sachin is admired and enjoyed (Read McCullums remarks). If that Sachin was a Hurricane, this sachin is a pleasant breeze, no one realized, how, when and where he scored all his runs. If that sachin was a dictator, this sachin is a magician. If that sachin was a murderer, this sachin is an expert surgeon. That sachin killed the opposition attacks, whereas this sachin analyses and dissects the opposition. If that sachin was an uncut diamond, this sachin is the Kohinoor of batting.
I loved him then as an 16 year old kid, I love him now as 26 year old dad. Times keep changing; even the greats bite the dust. Tyson got knocked out, Richards was troubled and could not score runs as he used to, and many greats lost their fight against time. But, Sachin, God that he is, took a friendly approach with time.
Instead of fighting against time and change, he became friends and took batsmanship to the next level. 43 hundreds and an endless list of awards, has not diminished his passion for this game, he still is a learner of the game. He has evolved, only those species that evolve can thrive in this world, but sachin has taken evolution to the next level. He is the epitome of modern batsmanship. This innings can be used as a tuturial for all aspiring batsman.

P.S: I wish sachin and all sachin fans for some of the records that he broke today.
1. Sachin today has become the first man in this planet to score 10000 runs in a teams victory. 2. Second highest score in New Zeal Land 3. Highest ever for a player who got retired hurt 4. Highest score in New zeal land by an Indian 5. Highest score in Christchurch 6. First Indian to score three 150 scores, he is now only behind jayasurya who has 4 (but sachin has the maximum number of 140 scores)7. He increased the number of MOMs today to 58, twelve ahead of jayasurya.
P.P.S: A request to critics: Please find some other reason and point out a few stats and criticize sachin. We need more great knocks from him.

also, one must understand he shd be preferred more for tests than for ODIs..let him directly play the WC 2011 as that will rejuvenate his desire to win the cup..

well said..sachin baiters shd now understand before he bids adeu..
As usual some people are out to denigrate Sachin. Remarkably on a day when he was the only saving grace in the Indian batting. One guy comes out with about 5 reasons why Sachin sucks. But people can come out with 100 reasons (or at least 89) why he rocks! If we want to find out faults we can find so many in each player. 140 was one of the rare good knock from Ponting in a WC (he didn't have to do much in the other two WC finals), on the other hand had Sachin not played so well in WC03 India would have been knocked out pretty early. Ponting also has a pathetic record (in Test) while playing in India. Inzi has very ordinary (avg 30) record againt the best team of his time, Aus. However, I would rather like to look at the great contributions these people have made for their country and cricket than find out their faults.

critics are only good when they serve the purpose of allowing the target to introspect and improve
other then that above reason i simply dislike critics as they just increase negativity which is bad for everybody ...
you are unfair ... because you are counting failure of one person and success of another person ... you need to count success of both players or you need to count the failure of both players side by side then you need to comapre
