Took lot of time to write how bad sachin is. As people increase their efforts to research on how to prove Sachin is bad, Sachin is undisturbed and going forward. Who told that WC is the measure for someone's credibility? Who told performance in Finals is the only measure? With this argument, Lara, Sachin, Sehwag and many will be useless players and Kirti Azad, Ravi Sastry and Sunil walson are the stars as they player 1983 world cup when India won. Make Sachin as Captain of Australia he would have won 6 world cups. Make Ponting the captain of India and see what happens. This whole thing shows jealosy and nothing else. We dont do such detailed analysis for anyone else and only for achievers and we are fond of appreciating foreigners.

Ok, so you have come out with about 5 reasons why Sachin sucks. But people can come out with 100 reasons (or at least 89) why he rocks! If you want to find out faults you can find so many in each player. 140 was one of the rare good knock from Ponting in a WC (he didn't have to do much in the other two WC finals), on the other hand had Sachin not played so well in WC03 India would have been knocked out pretty early. Ponting also has a pathetic record (in Test) while playing in India. Inzi has very ordinary (avg 30) record againt the best team of his time, Aus. However, I would rather like to look at the great contributions these people have made for their country and cricket than find out faults.

Forgot to add the master of all flops
WCUP 2007 he flops and we dont even make to second round,but guess who is blamed,Greg Chappel,for what?asking sachin to guide the team in chases by batting number 4...wow
Stop blaming the team for lack of wcup wins,if he is all that great,he shouldve won it for us after the bowlers set up some matches and others did their part like the above mentioned matches it is he who didnt perform.
We had a decent bowling attack in WCUP 1996,99 and 2003 and had batsmen like Azhar(1996),Sidhu Jadeja then Ganguly,Dravid,Sehwag etc..so it wasnt a weak team ever,if he was great like Imran or Kapil or even Inzi or Ponting(who have a great record in ODIS,Inzi has 10000 plus runs coming down the order and Ponting lots of runs and who can forget his 140 not out in WCUP 2003)he wouldve won us atleast one wcup in 5 attempts.dont tell us that he had no chance to do it in all 5 wcups,he had plenty of chances he blew it...
He wants to blow one more WCUP and at this rate he will...thanks to weak teams.
The guy cant even win us a series agaisnt a second rated AUS team

GC was a stupid coach (though a great batsman in his days). It is one of the basic management lessons to play with your strength. Instead GC explored people's weeknesses and played with that! He created tension and disharmony in the team and then you expect it to win? While he could not do anything to Sachin he succeded in destroying Irfan Pathan's career...

Remember that it was tendulkar who won the first and only series against Australia with a century and 90 in the 2 finals. We forget, but he won 3 cups against Australia in Sharjah. Why dont you blame Saurav, Dravid, Azhar as well for not getting world cup? Why only Sachin? that itself shows Sachin is expected to do more than what a team can do. We need to understand that cups are won by the teams. Bangladesh cant win world cup even if Great ponting is their captain.

Did ur dad came to win the cup in 2008 In australia and cup in srilanka in 2009? in all 3 finals sachin was man of the match.Why do u guys just remember the finals he failed and not the finals he won? not to forget his knock of 1999 in shaharaj...
tell me how many finals did pointing won for aussie except 140 of 2003 cup? any more??
i listed 4 finals that Sachin won for us -- out of 4 finals he scored 3 centuries...
give complete data..
Even i can list that pointings and inzis and desilvas -- have never performed in finals they won wcup because they had better team unlike Indian team who had only one warrior the SACHIN.

Do you know who Sachin the top run getter in 1996 & 2003 World cups. Even Rahul Dravid is top run getter in 1999 world cup. It is not the Ponting and inzys and Laras. OK

If u consider Sidhu,Jadega and ganguly in same leauge like Hayden,Gilchrist i pity your cricketing knowledge-- sidhu jadega and ganguly were just ordinary players and tell me about our bowling attack? we never had decent bowling attack. and No team can win wcup after asked to chase over 340 in final.. raman that is wat i am telling--- OTHER THAN 140 of pointing list me other finals in which he scored? only 1 finals he scored .. but i can list 5 finals in which tendulkar scored..
Lets list all FINALS played by all 3 players SACHIN,LARA,POINTING and INZY and i can bet that SACHIN has won more finals for us.. and btw,he is highest scorer in worldlcup/ worldcup success is not just measure due to final.. its about consistency of the whole worldcup series...
so do u think jury gave MOS to sachin for 2 worldcup?

Slankan bowling attack in 1996 wcup was much weaker to Indias...their batsmen didnt choke that was the difference...
their bowling attacck had Dharmasena and Wickramasinghe,did u even watch cricket in 80s and 90s ARUN?

Manu, It is really easy to criticise you. We are not asking you to go to field and do something extraordinary, but at least do a minimum study before giving a statement like "utter failure in big matches and finals". Sachin averages 56 in finals. Ponting 37 and Lara 28. Then your next question is why India doesn't win more tournaments? Simple answer a talented guy like you didn't find out is that cricket is after all played by 11 players in each side!

It is in fact tough to criticise Sachin (both on and off the field) but some people have extra talent ;-)
We have seen that B-bowling is not all that bad as it is made out to be by Sehwag.In fact their bowling is reasonably good and India can take them lightly at their own peril.Yes, their batting is still in shorter version mould and complete change in their batting style is needeed if they have to make any mark in Tests.India can play their 2nd string Test team more often with B'desh and will do good to both the teams with B'desh improving in batting and India imroving its bench strength.
89 International centuries, 44 Test centuries, 45 ODI centuries, top performer in Tournament Finals, top performer in World Cups (highest scorer in 2 World Cups), and still going strong .....
Too bad he'll keep going on and on and on in the process smashing records after records, and those haters can do nothing but keep watching him. Always remember that an elephant never dies by the curse of a crow !!

tendulkar himself is a great team player but his presence in the team is costing the team very dear. others have lost the sense of team and everyone is behind individual performance.... thats why world cup has got eclipsed due to tendulkar.

Still going strong. Always the best batsman of the team. Had the golden opportunity to win the world cup in 2003, that too against his 'favourite' opponent. BUT CAME A CROPPER. Cricket is a team game. If you cannot inspire your team to win big games, what is the use of scoring centuries??

Not necessarily a big advantage for India playing Ban. In fact a surprise from Ban can unsettle their ranking. Consider this: a 2-0 victory will give India only 1 point and 1-0 victory will take away one point, 1-1 draw will cost India their 1st ranking. Point wise it's better for India to play higher ranked teams and beat them. However, if you say India being the neighbour (and being instrumental in providing them test status) does have a responsibility to nuture their cricket then that's a different consideration.
